I see a lot of comparisons gaining steam.

I just want to make one caution. The Packers have had a joke of a schedule thus far, especially and specifically to passing defenses.

Their schedule, with opponents passer rating against ranking in parantheses:
Saints (20)
Panthers (28)
Bears (6)
Broncos (30)
Falcons (21)
Rams (25)
Vikings (31)
Chargers (29)
Vikings (31)

So just to recap, 5 of their victories have come against teams in the bottom 5 in the league in passing defense.

They have only faced one team in the top 10, and none in the top 5.

All but one of their victories are against teams in the bottom half of the league.

Meanwhile, in 2007, the Patriots defeated:
Jets (16)
Chargers (1)
Bills (15)
Bengals (27)
Browns (t-17)
Cowboys (5)
Phins (29)
Skins (10)
Colts (3)
Bills (15)
Eagles (13)
Ravens (24)
Steelers (9)
Jets (16)
Phins (29)
Giants (t-17)

Victories against the bottom five: only 2 (Phins, twice). Victories against the top five: 3. Victories against the top 10: 5.

I doubt the Packers go undefeated, they got some tough division games left against DET, and CHI, also they face NYG.

If they do go undefeated, They will have some tough matchups in the playoffs SF, NYG, DAL, and NO could all take them out. GB is getting very ****y and I'd bet that they don't reach the SB this year.

Packers probably gonna go undefeated. Detroit isn't that good, I think they'll be closer games but GB will still win. Obviously Bears/Giants could pose some problems but GB's defense seems to be stepping up and gaining confidence at the right time...

I was just going to post that...we will know more about the Packers in the upcoming weeks.

I agree.

I think they end up 13-3 or 14-2.

Their elite offense will slow slightly against Detroit and NYG. And their sketchy passing defense will give them problems.

Still, deep down I sort of wish they'd go 18-0 and we could beat them in the Super Bowl...

I was thinking the same thing...they would know how we felt after that season. The one i will always forget.:(

Well, if anyone ever figures out how to slow Rodgers down, they could be in trouble because their running game is putrid.

Imagine the Packers going undefeated going into the Super Bowl only to beaten then by none other than the New England Patriots. That would be great.

The Packers passing attack against our defense is a scary thought though.

I'd love it too, but I just don't see how they wouldn't score 50 points on our secondary :(

Every time I see Randall Cobb make a play, just makes me even more mad we didn't draft him. He would kill us out of the slot, and he's like their #4 WR, then you got Finley at TE.

Our best bet is for someone else to do the dirty work. We just don't matchup well against GB.

James Starks looks pretty good to me. I think the only way Rodgers slows down is Suh slamming his head in the turf.

What people don't realize about our 07 campaign is how hard our schedule was. We beat Indy and Dallas who were also undefeated at the time of our meetings, and we were on the road for both. Had the browns not yakked and let the titans in on the final day, we would have played every AFC playoff team and three of the six NFC playoff teams. Our division sucked, but we played a big part in making everyone else suck. It really was a brutal schedule. I don't think the Packers' sched is as easy as everyone says, but it doesn't touch our 07 season.

The Bears passing defense was weak early in the year. They've really turned it on since playing Green Bay, and I expect a much better re-match.

The Packers offense is unreal though. I honestly think it is better than the '07 Patriots.

Now before anyone gets their panties in a bunch over that. I'm not suggesting Rodgers is better than Brady. Both QB's are basically a wash from '07 to '11.

It's just he has SOOO many weapons. He has 5 guys that could all be go-to receivers on most NFL teams. It's just impossible to game plan for that. Especially a QB like Rodgers, who is just playing flawless football.

I don't know if they'll go 16-0, they might. Doubt 19-0. As you can see, it was not easy for the Pats. I think the pressure and the expectations just become so overwhelming.

The Packers defense has some issues right now. You got to also factor in injuries. The way Rodgers runs around is risky.

The Packers are very good, and Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in football right now. Sorry Brady fans, it is true.

Which team was better? Hmmm. I'll go with the Patriots, because they had a slightly better running game, and I think that defense was better as well. They were getting gashed a bit at the end of the year, but they were a veteran savvy that almost always came up big when it mattered. Well, except during the SB.

I predict the Pack will end up 15-1 with a loss either to da Bears or da Giants. Lions do not impress anymore.

If the Pack plays defense like they did against the Viqueens however, they could run the table. Aaron Rodgers is just flat out unbelievable this season and that receiving corps is unreal. Even when teams get pressure on him he still throws 3-4 TDs.

2007 Pats vs 2011 Pack. I think the Pats were a better all-around team. But right now, all the Pack needs is for the defense to make a couple more stops in the course of the game, get the ball in Rodgers' hands a couple of more times per game and I don't see anyone that can beat them unless they just have a bad day.

I still think the Lions can beat them, even if they're not as good as everyone thought. How many "bad teams" toward the end of the year started giving the Pats a scare?

Teams start treating these games like their SB. GB will have that same bullseye.

Besides, I actually DO think the Lions match up great with the Packers. IMO, to beat Rodgers you need to get pressure on him without blitzing. The Lions got a 4 guys that can get right after him, while allowing the Lions to drop guys back in coverage.

I think Lions will beat them on Thanksgiving. Bears are also a threat. I think those are the only two teams that I give a really good chance. They know the Packers very well. You can never discount anyone from your own division. Those games are always a little tougher.

Well, the Giants maybe, again, they match up well with a 4-3 defense that can get at Aaron, but their secondary is sorta iffy. Teams that aren't as familiar with you its hard to say. I like the Lions and Bears chances much better, but the Giants are definitely a threat as well.

Those are probably the only three teams, realistically, that can beat them, unless Green Bay literally just doesn't show up for a game against a stinky team.

Agreed. Based on what I have seen, the 07 Pats are a better unit than the 11 Pack.

I still don't like the Pack's D. I do not expect them to win the SB.

We've seen this movie before. Explosive offenses without great defenses eventually lose.

.

I think you would be right in suggesting that Rodgers (this season) is better than Brady of 2007. Rodgers is basically a mobile version of 2007 Brady. He's equally as good in the pocket but then brings the added dimension of being able to throw accurately on the run or to run the ball himself. When this season is done, Rodgers is likely to have played the best season any football player has ever played..

a win is a win and i dont care what their schedule is. They are a pretty damn good football team and its ok to say so

Bradys drive against the Jets were it made it 30-16 was the best Qb play all year I still think Brady is better :)

Maybe this is true but it's really hard to say. Brady was unreal that year against much better defenses then what the Packers play this year. Rodgers is definately one of the best QBs though, the kid has it all and he's young.

That being said, Packers have a good chance to go undefeated but its hard. I'll bet its a team that no one expects that knocks them off to Lol.

It's true Rodgers has faced easier competition than Brady did in 2007 but I'm still seeing a guy that's making very few mistakes and a guy that can make pinpoint passes in the pocket or on the run under duress. The passes he's making are virtually indefensible whereas I feel like in 2007, it was equal parts of Randy Moss being indefensible that made a large part of Brady's magical year. Jennings is great, but he's not 2007 Moss great. Lastly, I think the run at the end of last year shows that what Aaron Rodgers is doing is not a fluke and that he can impose his will against playoff caliber teams.

That all being said, I'm not trying to diminish Brady's 2007 season which I still deem as the greatest regular season a QB has ever had pending the outcome of this season.
