Please Football Gods, let the Phins hire another Wanny.

d%#*!@t. This blows. First he was playing in SEC West against Auburn every year as LSU head coach, then he goes to Dolphins and play against the Pats twice a year, now he's going to Alabama (Auburn's archrival).

What a sick joke.

Josh McDaniels anyone?

I'm surprised he canned it this early in Miami.

Saban got in trouble with his mouth. The writing was on the wall and you could tell his heart wasn't really into it. So no big surprise here.

They showed a clip of Saban from as recently as Dec 21st,vehemently denying going to Alabama. :bricks:

lets pray denny green goes to miami

He should have quit.
He showed that he was clueless in the NFL with his signing of Culpepper instead of Brees.

This is great news for the Pats, it will demoralize veterans like Thomas and Taylor and with their terrible cap position they should be a couple of years away from being competitive (I said the same thing about the Jets). He also finished with enough wins that they don't get a top 5 pick.

Hopefully he and BB and still cool and we have our SEC pipeline back.

Saban has certainly taken an odd track to get where he supposedly wants to go. From abruptly leaving MSU, to a short stint at LSU, and ultimately to what most aspiring head coaches would consider a dream job in Miami. More power to him, but he seems like a man unsure of himself at this point. Then again, his uncertaintly is our gain as Pats fans.

I look at everything through the eyes of a Patriot fan, and I think this is great news. I think he's a good coach, and hated that we lost the line to the LSU players. Now we'll have a line, I assume, to the Alabama players.

I have to say that I am amazed. But, when you look at Saban's tenure at other places, he's a nomad. Has he been ANYWHERE for more than 5 years? He seems like he is a guy who thinks that the grass is always greener on the other side, only to find out its just as brown as the place he left. What he's not realizing is that the reason its brown is because he doesn't tend to it.

A source said Saban failed to show this morning for a scheduling meeting at team headquarters in Davie with Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga. Saban told Huizenga of his intentions via telephone and then informed all of his coaches by speakerphone that he was leaving to accept the Alabama position, the source said.

That is low-class.

If this is true, how mamby pamby can you get? This guy doesn't have the cojones for the NFL. Instead of fixing the mess you made at QB you ride out on the tide with your tail between your legs and leave the mess for someone else to clean up. THANKS!! Love, the rest of the AFC East

Ouch that's just cold, IMO. I'm sure his coaching staff can't be to happy about how he announced it. Than again they probably knew before the owner did.

Since Satan had previously talked to Taylor about Taylor's thoughts of retirement, I wonder if that potential loss was yet another factor in his decision to quit and run away to Bammer?

IT'S ON BABY :D

My best friend is a HUGE Auburn fan - I love Saban . . . things are gonna get interesting :)

Blessings come in many packages, they say.

I really wanted Saban to stick it out so we could prove that the teacher is still the teacher, at least in this case. But, hey, a win is a win! Even the ugly ones!

;)

I wonder how high and mighty all those Dolphins fans that were here talking smack earlier in the year feel now...
