Going back to that loss to the Jets....

We were playing them on 6 days rest after losing a huge emotional game to the Colts. A game the Pats look back on knowing that they could have won had they stuck to the running game.

And the Jets were coming off a bye-week, so they had 2 weeks to prepare for us.

Is that essentially how the NFL schedules you into a loss or basically gives the team coming off a bye-week a huge advantage?

I'm not sure of the exact numbers but I once heard that teams that play on MNF have a less-than-average chance of winning with a short week of practice and recovery period.

And we only lost by 3 points.

I'm beginning to feel a lot better about this game.......

Not sure why you didn't feel good about this matchup from the beginning. But either way I am glad you are starting feel better.

One thing about knowing to much about your opponent is thinking you know what they are doing based on a certain look etc.. and then they do something completely different. I see the Pats doing some of that early and then coming with a heavy dose of the run after they build a 17+ point lead. The Pats will be in controll of this game from start to finish.

There is no reason they do not come right out and take total control of this game.

We can certainly "out-physical" the Jets as our lines compared to theirs is a huge advantage for the Patriots. Whether we run it down their throats early, or come out 5 wide and then pound them does not matter. The fact that we can pretty much have our way with them is comforting.

The only way the Jets could win would be 4-5 turnovers and every conceivable break and bounce going their way. Possible, yes, but highly unlikely.

Agreed and honestly I wouldn't be shocked if they came out throwing deep on early downs.

Is this like the question
"How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?" ?

using my reverse polish calculator I come up with
16 <enter> 12 - 8 + 5 - 6 + 4 - 10 + 7 - = 12 :rocker:

Of course it really depends if there are any experts to be found. :bricks:

Thats what I said in a different thread. I would love to see a play action, deep post to JACKSON on the first play from scrimmage.

Last week, the first play from scrimmage was a play action and when Isaw it , I thought it would be that deep post, but it wsnt, but at least it was close...now this week, I would love to have WBCN on and hear Gil Santos screaming...he's on the 40, the 30, the 20 Jackson is going all the way...TOUCHDOWN PATRIOTS.......

That sounds oh so sweet:rocker:

All the New York Football Media

It's their only hope...even TIKI MANIA won't hide the Jint's suckage:rolleyes:

The media is so anti-pats i wouldnt doubt that anyone has the pats to win, besides us here at this forum.

I think even the "experts" cannot deny what places like Vegas are saying. Though they know that betting odds are hardly a clear sign of true of probabilities, even these by-line types can't miss the steady rise of the Pats these past weeks.

They will grudging give the Pats a slight "favored" status, even as they hold their noses. They love the "star power" that has become the hallmark of today's media, which means they see the Pats as anti-establishment freaks because BB & Co don't buy into that.

But that's all good with me. I *love* being the under dog. Dis the Pats all you want, media!! Bring it!! More!!

Do you know who I can't stand? That fat black guy on NFL Network (Jamie something?). He thinks the Jets win this game because they won in Foxboro earlier in the year. That is the only reason why he picks them. Talk about "hard hitting analysis". Every other national commentator I've seen so far thinks the Pats win this game.

i don't think many will pick the Jets and i actually think that there would be more "experts" picking them if they hadn't beaten us already this year. the only rationale would be that the Jets are going somehow to catch the Patriots by surprise or show them something new and that rationale is gone. against the spread is another matter. i definitely think the game will be in play until the last posession and don't see the two possession win that the line is suggesting.
