I don't know if its me but ever since Hernandez got hurt in the Steelers game and had to wear the brace that he still wears today,it appears to have been hampering him for the past several games.

I was getting used to seeing Hernandez floating open downfield and finding many opportunities to get open and looked to me like we finally had a TE that is a downfield threat, but ever since the injury, its apparent he has had problems getting seperation from defenders and without a doubt he is not the same.

Could it be defenses catching up to the routes of the TEs or that brace?

Hasn't looked 100 percent to me.

Re: Has Hernandez been affected by the Brace?

well considering that he has been almost invisible i think he isn't healthy.

Re: Has Hernandez been affected by the Brace?

Oh come on, he's the same guy.

Re: Has Hernandez been affected by the Brace?

Looked to me like he was not even wearing the brace Sun (at least not in warm-ups). Like all the other receivers, he has just been affected by the declining play of the offense, exposed by a lack of an outside threat or a running game.

Meh...you saw him in his first game back. He was slow as ****. You don't think the brace and injury aren't bothering him?

We need Hernandez back to his early season form regardless.

What does Ron Brace have to do with Hernandez?

Re: Has Hernandez been affected by the Brace?

he has been limping after being tackled- i don't think his knee is 100%

I think injury is a big factor, also which is my opinion, he seems mentally weak, a common pattern in post 04 Patriots. He was healthy against the Jets and was supposed to be a huge factor, he checked out big time, I think its time to look at him for what he is, a young ass sophomore, younger than many rookies.

Re: Has Hernandez been affected by the Brace?

This is a tough one. After all, perhaps the Giants just played good coverage on him and Brady found better options.

His production certainly isn't what we've come to expect from the first few games.

Aaron Hernandez?

Other than the redzone td's.... I have yet to see him shoot across the field like we saw all the time last year?

1. Is it the injury? Has this impeded him?

2. Our offense is being killed by the shallow pressing coverage?

as for Q2 IDK how it effects Hernandez... the dude is a mismatch for the Defences. Why has his role significantly declined? Do we use him less as a go to guy b/c of the injury? I see him used soooo much less despite him accruing a significant # of playing downs in a game.

what ar your takes on this matter?

Re: Aaron Hernandez?

Brady is looking for Welker & Gronkowski. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it seems a more than regular occurrence these days.

Re: Aaron Hernandez?

He doesn't seem as explosive so I have to believe it's the knee. I wish he would lose his TD celebration which looks ridiculous and takes way too long. Give that time back to all the guys who blocked for you.

I think perhaps he and Spikes have been seeking counsel from the same choreographer.

Exactly.

Either that, or he generally has a low pain threshold (for a football player, not for an ordinary person).

Being that he was the one downfield threat that we had (at TE no less), I'd think it safe to say that we need him to be back to his early season form. And yes, the injury is bothering him. Hopefully he'll be back to that form by the playoffs (should we make it).

I could have sworn Hernandez got hurt in late September/early October, the Steelers game was a month later.

Hasn't he been wearing the brace since his return vs the NYJ on Oct.9th?

I think he started wearing the brace after Bob Sander's helmet hit up on his knee early in that San Diego game in the end zone,so yes you are right.

Ever since that very play, our offense has sunk to low depths and scoring is way down.

Hernandez...not Gronkowski or Welker is key to keeping the offense in high gear because of his talent of getting downfield like a WR and stretching opposing secondaries out.

Ever since Hernandez has slowed his game which is my opinion is probably the brace that is slowing him down and nothing else, teams no longer worry about anyone getting open deep and focus on Welker and Gronk

Until that brace is removed, our offense will likely continue to sink......I think most people don't realize of how truly gifted and how important a healthy Aaron Hernandez is to this team....Hernandez is the key to scoring in the 30s

I think this is a MAJOR reason that teams have stopped this offense to a crawl and Brady can't get in rhythm.....Hernandez is the secret.

remember when Mayo was hurt a few years ago w/ an MCL injury and never was the same afterwards, during the rest of the season? I suspect the same thing will continue to happen to Hernandez:( He is hurt in a Poor area and it will effect him far worse than Mayo b/c of the position he plays (he makes cuts, pivots etc) way harder of a position to play w/ a bumb MCL than MLB/ILB [what is difference between MLB and ILB
why do they make 2 acronyms for the same position??? I thought they wer the same?
watching Dez Bryant today makes me sad... but TRADING that pick got us GRONK, right? If I am correct about that hunch it is a moot point.

We need a field stretcher. Miss the playoffs get a better DP and play for next year:cool:

IMO we should USE both #1's and get a DE and a TOP-NOTCH WR... use every PICK on the D side other than a WR. I really want a significant WR (look at my binkies Green and Julio) Imagine if we had 1 of them?

binkies I knew we had no shot at unless we traded a bunch up. I liked both WR's
