Is Shaun Ellis Next?

I'm aware of that. He was then converted to a 3-4 OLB, so if they're going to convert him BACK to a 4-3 DE, it stands to reason that it may require some time.

Of course, it could also be that he's a total bust. But then again, you don't see Eric Moore doing anything, either.

Dunlap would have been the better choice of the two in this defense, IMO.

Next year we trade up to only draft players in rounds 1-2 ... then we fill out the roster with FA's ...
FA's or undrafted free agents straight from the collegiate ranks?

4million for this guy was too much

All Shaun Ellis has to do is keep quiet, nod and agree with everything and he'll keep his spot on the roster.

I hope we give him some more time before we cut him. He's gotten a couple sacks so he's been productive.

I think we are misuing him actually. I think he should be a tackle instead of an end. Lastly, I would ir him before i just let him go back to the jets.

Shaun who? Oh, Ellis. I forget he played on this team.

I was scrolling down to post just that, not a good sign when you completely forget a guy playing for your team.

He's way too useless to get cut. Ellis, Barrett, Molden, and Brown are fireproof right now

I still don't get it, sure he is overpaid, but it's not our money.

What's the point in releasing him, is there some one better on the practice squad.

since haynesworth got cut, now everyone seems to think the pats will/should cut every other underperforming player.

the thing is theres a difference between trying hard but under-performing and underperforming because you decided to take plays off/not giving an effort....haynesworth was the latter from accounts and hence why he had to go

Seriously, if Shaun Ellis falls in the forest, and no one is there to hear it, would Shaun Ellis make a sound? Seriously, has he done anything at all this season????

Rex Ryan got us on this one....not signing him because he knew Ellis tank was empty

If he sacked you and you never came back to Patsfan.com, I'd consider that has a successful FA signing.

I get why Hayneworth had to go, it's addition by subtraction.

Ellis is actually solid every play, he is as good or at lease close to as good as anyone not named Wilfork on the Pats D line. He is not a liability like Albert is. That is my point.

I also understand the nature of NFL forums, so I should of never asked the question in the first place, folks are just frustrated. Some Pat fans are disappointed there team is not crushing the league as they normally do.

I see the Jets at 5/3 and am excited for there potential going forward.

Some Pat fans see there 5/3 team coming off a 14 and 2 season and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Me, I am not counting the Pats out of any thing, or the Jets.

This has been a popular question for us this year

Man, I HATE reasonable Jet fans...you can't do anything to them because, just by being such a rare island of reason in the Green Sargasso Sea, their value is almost incalculable.

I'll be watching you, though...one slip up,Guns...one tickle of a toe...and it's
ON!!

We simply don't need as many defensive linemen as we have on the squad, now that Deaderick and Brace are back. It doesn't matter who is on the Practice Squad.

HOWEVER, if indeed Ellis is a good soldier and is working hard, then I now agree that there is no reason to cut him. At worst, he provides insurance against injury and provides a capable body in the rotation as needed.

I still don't get it, sure he is overpaid, but it's not our money.
