They have better wide receivers, running backs, defensive line, corner backs, with a dynamic QB/Coach. Now take a look at their record. We Patriot fans should feel blessed to be 5-3.

We have seen talented teams like this in the past have trouble equating that talent into wins every week.

To answer your question--No, I do not think that this yr's Pats team is 'on paper' as talented as Philly's, but that does not mean much in the NFL where many dynamics contribute to a victory.

Let's hope that with a 3-5 record, they somehow go into a complete tailspin, because they were a team that I was not looking forward to playing. Maybe we can see a complete implosion?

Cowboys/Chargers have been the most talented teams for like 7 years now or so i am told.

the eagles are just like any team that tries to buy a title via free agency

talent is nice, but without chemistry, it just doesn't matter

you would think they would have learned that from the redskins trying to always buy wins, you can't do it like that in the nfl with salary cap

chargers used to be the most talented, but after bleeding off free agents in order to sign some big contracts to keep other home grown players around (rivers, dielman, jammer, weddle) , they've had some bad drafts and haven't been able to maintain the talent level

I'm sure the Chargers miss Darren Sproles and Michael Turner to name a few unrestricted free agents.

Eagles have some holds at LB and S. Pretty poor interior offensive line as well.

well they had to get rid of turner, LT was still top of his game, or damn near, when we had to make that decision

as for sproles, we don't really miss him, as he did hardly anything for us last season

he exhausted his effectiveness in the chargers offense, and now he's in new orleans where their rivals don't know him as well.

perfect example of change of scenery being good for a player.

we have Tom Brady just ask the colts how much it means to have one of the greatest QB's of all time starting on sundays

This is what I mean by the long view.. to stay at the top is difficult.

Indy, San Diego and now Philadelphia... the last was a superbowl pick of many.

I was thinking about Kyle Arrington last night as I watched the performance of his $21M cousin's Asante and Nnamdi Arrington on the dream team that the media crowed had been boldly assembled to win it all this season by their great HC and FO and ownership...

It's the only thing harder than getting to the top, which SD and Philly haven't ever quite managed to do yet, either... Fans and media love talent and personalities. In the moment they often appear to prefer those to mere actual accomplishments...

The point is that they are all anointed in the pre-season as superbowl favorites, and never reach that lofty throne..

From what we were lead to believe Philadelphia was on track to for a Superbowl Dynasty after all of their signings..

To date, the New England Patriots have only beaten one team with a winning record so far.

GB opponents record 28-37

Pats opponens 35-31

Your point?
