Cowboys/Chargers have been the most talented teams for like 7 years now or so i am told.
I'm sure the Chargers miss Darren Sproles and Michael Turner to name a few unrestricted free agents.chargers used to be the most talented, but after bleeding off free agents in order to sign some big contracts to keep other home grown players around (rivers, dielman, jammer, weddle) , they've had some bad drafts and haven't been able to maintain the talent level

This is what I mean by the long view.. to stay at the top is difficult.
Indy, San Diego and now Philadelphia... the last was a superbowl pick of many.
It's the only thing harder than getting to the top, which SD and Philly haven't ever quite managed to do yet, either... Fans and media love talent and personalities. In the moment they often appear to prefer those to mere actual accomplishments...
