OK, now that BB has failed his QB and hasn't provided him with the talent he's needed to get that elusive 4th Superbowl for the last 7 years by blowing draft after draft and bringing in free-agent bust after free-agent bust, where do we go from here?

What can we do right now with a defense that now has some guy named Adams as it's 3rd CB because our headcoach has cut all of his personally chosen 2nd and 3rd draft picks via trade-downs instead of dealing up for impact players, what can we do?

The trade deadline has past and going forward, we pretty much know that we'll have to win games with our offense in order to win games, this defense that our coach has put together via his personnel inemptness has brought the team to it's knees.

His lack of addressing the outside WR spot now has defenses collapsing safeties into the box and taking away the entire interior of the field. What can we do against these defenses we're going to see going forward? After being told we are going to see more of Taylor Price by the OC, we again see him inactive, WTF is going on around here ? Can we please get this guy on the field to atleast make defenses somewhat honest outside the hashes ?

The lack of an outside threat again is rearing it's ugly head.

Why are there so many posts blaming BB and BOB for Price not being active? The guy is a human injury, it was not a coaching decision.

We get back to the running game (Giants front may be the best in the NFL, the Jets not so much) we play ball/clock control and we beat the Jets in NY. In other words we gameplay on Sunday the way we should have last January. And I'm very confident Mr. Brady is not going to struggle again this week. This Patriot team is very flawed yet I love them in NY on Sunday night.
No one will pick the Patriots on Sunday night. I love it!!!

Ah, my 19 post Padawan, you have not yet comprehended the disturbances in the Force that make such statements seem logical to many who populate this Board. Let your mind be open to the Force and all will be clear to you. :)

I saw a D yesterday that made a ton of stops and gave the offense a ton of chances to destroy the giants.

Well, last night I went to my liquor cabinet and poured myself a couple of fingers of Makers Mark and had some dinner. Today, I'll probably avoid most of the threads out here and give people another 24 hours to crawl back off their respective ledges.

As for the Pats, which is what I presume you are really asking, they have to suck it up and face the Jets. I try to avoid cliches, but I think it's fair to say that next week is a gut check game for this team. How they play, win or lose, will tell us a lot about them. I'm not even thinking "playoffs" or "not playoffs," but I'm interested in how the team deals with this.

Otherwise, I sure wish we had Brewski and/or Rodney in the locker room this week.

These guys are playing and coaching their tails off, but the ship is taking on water and listing badly.

"We need to throw better, we need to catch better, we need to tackle better, we need to block better..."

The one thing BB will never say is "we need to do a better job of finding talent."

where do we go from here?

BB will say "we need to do a better job coaching", and then we'll get more of the same. Thsn some people will complain on this board, and the usual homers will chime in and accuse everyone who criticizes BB in the slightest of being Jets fans.

True enough. I think the D played well for most of the game. They forced the Gints to punt multiple times. Plenty of opportunity for the Pats to pull ahead. Why was there such an absence of screen passes to advantage of the Gints aggressiveness? I think Pats only attempted it once. Anyway, the final Gints drive was aided by yet another impressive catch -- not a ball to the helmet, but not an easy catch at all. Their tight end had to reach up behind to snag that pass. Plus the dumbass PI by Brown on the goal line. Not saying the Gints won just by luck. But if Brown doesn't commit PI there, there's a good chance Gints are held to a field goal and either Brady gets them in position for a FG (I know, I know, Ghost is scary) or the game goes to OT.

Early betting line has the Jets as a 1 point favorite over the Patriots

I think this may be the first time since Brady has started at QB that the Pats are underdogs to the Jets.

We sign a free agent receiver/defensive back. The former who knows how to get open for more than 6 yards, and the latter who can turn his head around when teams constantly dare us to intercept them.

Just kidding 80 passes to Welker and 4 game losers on Brown/McCourty/Ihedigbo etc. Doesn't take a crystal ball.

it is pretty clear that if the pats continue with their attitude of indifference as they have shown in the last 2 games, they will not have a chance to beat the jets next week.....this team simply seems to be not up to the task of playing football on sundays......

as for who gets the blame.....

everyone

It shouldnt even have come down to that PI or the last minute drive for the giants. The D stepped up and played their bet game of the season. Tom Brady is the best ever and they had to punt just as often as the giants. Just a few short weeks ago we KNOW that the pats would have scored on every one of them drives. Really, when was the last time they punted that much?

They need a deep threat..Even at the end, they had to to that BS latteral the ball back and forth to have a chance.
