Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

Against the Giants we lost even with the starting RB, WR, and C out with injuries... Maybe against the Jets we can somehow get Plaxico, Holmes, Greene, and Mangold to sit out?? Send. Hit squad to there house the night before? Or is that still not enough talent for us to overcome?

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

i'll selectively root for who I want and expect them to beat. I will NEVER ditch my team... call it SUCK for Andrew LUCK, but w/ a better draft pick at hand instead of Luck. The Pats match up poorly vs. every playoff contender in the AFC. If ou think this team can win the AFC Championship game or even reach it that far you are smoking rocks.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

no chance at this rate

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

This game would have been huge to win...1 game lead in the east....god they sucked

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

I cant believe everyone is blaming the Defense for this loss...the problem is the offense right now.

the defense played with some real heart today, stopping the Giants on ALOT of 3rd downs. but when Eli manning gets that many opportunities...he will capitalize on them and we dont have a defense that can hold them the whole game.

Brady throws one less interception, we win the game..

the Arrington PI(which was a bull**** call) really was the changer in the game. it gave them a fre 45 yards!!

theres something off with this pats offense and it needs to be fixed

I would take just about any fringe playoff teams QB with 2 minutes down by 4 against our D. Outside of McCourty I don't trust one player on this D to really make a play when it counts and even McCourty is questionable. We can't play man because everybody forgets how to play the football and 2 minutes is plenty of time to carve up our D for 20+ a pop. I honestly just don't think we have enough talent in the secondary or at the LB position.

Crack business will pickup later this week.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

If our defense can't stop anybody at home they're not going to stop anyone on the road.

Go overboard much? Seriously, the Pats pretty much totally shutdown the Giants' offense for the first 50 minutes of the game. Yes, they fell apart at the end of the game, but they took a big step forward today.

The Pats have already beaten three of the playoff contenders in the AFC. So are you now saying the Pats didn't beat the Jets, Raiders, and Chargers? The Pats lost to two of the AFC contenders in the Steelers and Bills. The fact of the matter is the Pats are 3-2 vs. playoff contenders in the AFC.

An Offense w/o the Starting C NO Nicks or Bradshaw. CORRECTION- We did a pretty could job of stopping a far from healthy Giant Team:rolleyes:

sorry Rob, NO Sale Pal.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

This year's version of the Patriots lacks, physical toughness, mental toughness, talent, an offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator.

Other than that...they're ok.

So you're saying there's a CHANCE.

They pretty much shut them down just like they did in the superbowl game too,but when the money is on the table and they need to make a stop they fold like they did tonight and last week against good teams..

Can you imagine if we had a defense like the Ravens with our offense we would have 7 superbowls...

Cmon, losing these players slowed down their offense a bit, but didn't stop it. They still had Manning, Manninham, Cruz, and Ballard (who leads all TEs in TD receptions). If the Pats only slowed down the Giants' offense, then you had a point. But the Pats stifled their defense when people expected it to be a shootout.

I'm not saying this defense is the 2000 Ravens. I am saying it is progressing. The Pats have a weak schedule coming up from an offensive standpoint. This defense could be decent by the playoffs. It won't be great by then, but Belichick defenses usually play much better in December and January than they do early in the season.

Next week is going to be a tougher game than the **** giants team we just played..after that yes it gets easy

I hope your right but the last 3 playoff games they have not played well at all and IMO this defense is not as good as the last 3,,but i will drink the koolaid

For the defense, I don't know if it tougher for the Pats. I think Sanchez is too inconsistent and Greene is still shakey and now injured. The Jets' defense is starting to play at a high level though. Although I think the Pats can still run on them.

But this year is a freak year. Every team has huge flaws. Even the undefeated Packers had a chance of losing today after giving up 38 points to a struggling Packers offense that gave up two pick sixes today. Right now, the Packers' defense has given up more points this season than the Pats' defense has.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

i still like the patriots chances next sunday against new york.

granted, they lost today against an undermanned giants team, but i thought the defense played better and if not for a few brady interceptions, this game may not have come down to the final seconds.

the jets are still inconsistent on offense, and although their defense did a great job against a good bills offense today, i think the patriots can still pose matchup problems for them.

Re: Next week vs the Jets...MUST WIN

Could have -- should have won this game................why the offense took so long to get going today and what has happened since early season right before our very eyes defies explanation.

The defense IS improving, of course there are serious defensive backfield issues, but until meltdown time, we looked solid.

I actually think they win next week - easier than even those who predict victory will say.

Just watch.
