So much better off with Sergio Brown and James Iggybo or whatever the hell his name is.:mad::mad:

You do know both Sanders and Meriweather are on the bench in Chicago & Atlanta, right?

even if they are on the bench they are better than what we have now

Sanders and Meriweather suck, too.

Yea, clearly what we have is better than both of those guys right? oh wait.

Yeah well at least they can do decently enough in the Pats system. Iggy and Sergio cant avoid playing like garbage in it.

Here's something novel for all you arm chair GM's....Barrett & Brown were better in practice & TC than Meriweather who can't tackle or cover and Sanders who can't tackle or run?

Sure the safeties aren't good, but you'd all still be complaining if it was Meriweather or Sanders back there instead.

They could be in a hospital bed on the EFFING MOON and be better than the slap d!cks we've been trotting out there this year. And I include Chung in that group. He's hopped a ride on the Regression Express.

You know what though.....we weren't exactly knocking it out of the park in pass defense last year with those two either. Our defense has been basically dog sh(t for many years now. BB has made his priority (Well up until this year) creating a high powered, potent offense.......and put together a "just good enough" defense to allow us to win...sometimes like 2007...comfortably. Where he has really sh(t the bed this year, is NOT HAVING ENOUGH offensive weapons to offset the sh#tty defense....Even tho I agree with you....Merri and Sanders have to be better than those JAGoffs we have back there right now.....but you don't hear there names on the highlight reel for the NFL for their other teams either....

And they would both still be massive upgrades over the guys who replaced them. What does that tell you about our talent at safety?

As if our current guys wouldn't be?

Yeah Igs, Brown, Barret wouldn't be able to even grace a roster spot of an NFL team other than the Pats.

oh my gosh everything BB does turns to gold. he can't do no wrong.

Where did I say that? I didn't.

Sanders can't run anymore, can't tackle and can't cover, Meriweather is an idiot who can't tackle or cover.

Whoever is playing safety for the Patriots would be in the same position - just look how many people wanted Meriweather cut last year or Sanders for the last 4 years.

Everyone is a fantastic GM with hindsight, aren't they?

and the other factor is guys playing together. you can't get all these random guys and expect them to play effectively together. it's about team building and those SB years included guys who had played years together with each other.

The Pats weren't living in a defensive nightmare the second half of last season, and we had the most INT's in the league. So yeah I'll take Sanders & Meriweather.

I thought it was an idiotic decision when both were released so closely together. we went with having great depth to crap depth

At least the idiot who couldn't cover or tackle was more likely to grab a game clinching INT, rather than rape a receiver on the end zone line with 30 seconds to go!!!
