Activated off PUP per weei.com

Interested to see how effective he'll be - he seemed to be coming on before IR last year.

Re: Brace

great news.:) He is a fresh body and COULD be effective. Maybe last yrs version will show up down the stretch???:rocker:

Re: Brace

Be nice if he's still ready to go and can contribute right away.

Re: Brace

They had to activate him until next Tuesday. Otherwise he would have been destined for IR.

Re: Brace

Hernandez is still wearing his.

Re: Brace

Good. Brace actually plays well when he is on the field, the problem has been keeping him on the field.

If they were just activating him because they had to, they could have waited until after the weekend.

standard treatment for any MCL injury. he probably tweaked it a little... I wouldn't be worried

trying to be clever, lol

Re: Brace

He's a big body who's generally stout against the run. Especially given that Pryor is gone, we could see him next to Wilfork on running downs, in a platoon with Haynesworth. With a big guy like Jacobs on the other side of the line, this could be a significant addition.

A lot of guys are banged up, so you're probably right. I was just saying. If he would not have been activated until next Tuesday, it would have meant IR for him again.

I wonder if he is more 4-3 than 3-4 which would maybe be yet another "positive sign" for the team.

There's been a lot of tough talk about BB the GM. Brace becoming a player and contributing would help "recent draft pick results"...

Agree but for all the problems this D has had, they've been pretty good against the run. Don't think Brace will help much on third and long, which is where we have struggled. Without Pryor and Wright, the inside rush is MIA (sorry Vince).

Brace yourself!

Brace was surprisingly very effective as a bullrusher from the LDE position last year. Getting that from over the G on first or 2nd down could be very helpful to the defense.
As a DT over the G he doesnt really need to beat his blocker to collapse the pocket, and some of the pass rushers he had last year vs RTs were very effective in driving them backward, not as big a deal outside as it would be into the QBs face.

Re: Brace

We are going to need the biggest guys out there sunday,Brace in rotation can't hurt.

Brandon Jacobs is probably the biggest bruising RB in the NFL and he said he has something to prove sunday.

A big test on the defense's only positive trait.....slowing the run.

Brandon Jacobs has been hot garbage this season. The only time you hear from him this season is when he complains to the press that he isn't getting carries. The Giants fans boo him when he is on the field. It is nine weeks into the season and he has 126 yards, 2 TDs, and 3.0 YPC. The guy hasn't gotten more than 20 yards rushing in a game since week 2 vs a bad Rams defense.

If he is the Pats' defense's biggest test, they should get an A+. I think the only way the Pats defense has to worry about Jacobs is if he brings that "fat ass car" he got last week onto the field.

Brace has shown absolutely nothing in a New England Patriots uniform as of yet. Zilch.

The Brace pick ranks up there as one of the worst of the Belichick era--the epitome of BB's questionable "value" drafting philosophy and his poor defensive drafts in general. There was nothing whatsoever to indicate that Brace was anything more than a big body next to Raji that BB thought he could coach up to be an unheralded diamond in the rough find.

I hope Brace emerges as a force on the Dline and proves me 100% wrong.

You haven't been watching hard enough, then.

Don't know if Love put on some bulk this year, but i thought he looked more like a penetrating tackle ala Pryor last year, so maybe he can fill that role somewhat.

Anyway, with Deaderick, Brace and a hopefully healing Haynesworth, I'm looking for some serious pocket pushing the last half of the year. I'm an Andre Carter believer and the combination of those factors might help keep the pressure off our secondary for a while.

*crosses fingers*
