Injury? Speculation

i've noticed Maroney is wearing some sort of brace which is usually for shoulder and around part of arm aswell or some other type of injury but here

^that is a picture of maroney..on his right arm..he has a brace/wrap only on that arm

anyone know what it might be? i had to wear 1 for an AC (shoulder) sprain

I know those things are worn by Osgood Schlatter's patients to keep their kneecap from floating and/or being pulled apart by the stronger muscle.

Everytime I see them on the arm I think they serve the same purpose ... especially with the strength of the players now. That band keeps the muscle from exerting too much force on the elbow...his must have a problem. Which in turn can do a number of things ... one of which would be to keep his grip on the ball tight like before.

It may be for a minor sprain, it may be part of the support system for his rib cartilage, it may be a new effort by the trainers to prevent shoulder injuries based on the dynamics of Maroney's running style. Interesting item for speculation, but 73 yds against Tennessee suggests he is okay.

yeah hes okay but i was just wondering what it could be ..we'll find out in offseason if its hurt enough to need surgery. nothing said about a new injury but didnt have it for jags game then has it..hmm

That arm bit looks like part of a shoulder brace to me, the kind that go around the arm in one section and around the upper body in another. A friend of mine was having his shoulder dislocate a lot and wore something that looked just like that when he was wearing a t shirt. Tough to say only being able to see that much of it though.

Looked as though Rodney was wearing something similar, may be preventative due to late season strains and bruises. Maroney is not even on the injury report now.

Stephen Neal has worn one on both arms for his entire career.

Rodney wore one last week on his right arm (shoulder blade) last week, too.
