Here's a continuation of the "PERSONNEL BLUNDERS" thread.

Brandon Tate named AFC special teams player of the week | ProFootballTalk
After his punt return touchdown sealed the Bengals’ victory on Sunday, Brandon Tate has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

On the day Tate had three punt returns for 73 yards, including that 56-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Bengals’ 34-12 win. Tate also had four kickoff returns for 113 yards.

The touchdown was the first on a punt return for the Bengals since Peter Warrick scored one in 2003.

A former third-round draft pick of the Patriots, Tate was claimed by the Bengals off waivers from New England on September 4, after Tate failed to make the Patriots’ 53-man roster.

Tate's 186 all purpose yards last week alone are more than Ocho Cinco has all season.

You guys still think letting Tate go wasn't a mistake? He's doing better than ALL of our kick returners this year.

Quick, everyone jump in and say how the SWORE we should have kept Tate and not trade for Ocho...you know, the same people who SWORE they should have gotten rid of Tate and "loved" the ocho trade?

where y'all at?

oh thats right, you're to busy packing away your pats gear and starting threads about how a 5-2 teams sucks and coaches should be fired, players should be cut and all that jazz.

good for him

however, Edelman is a better punt returner by a good margin. he just has been injured (or arrested it seems). so Tate was our 2nd best punt returner, our 1st best kickoff returner, and our 5th or 6th or 7th best receiver.

it was probably a tough call, but not one that we should lose sleep over.

again, good for him.

I'm right here. Take a look at the little statement under my screen name. That went up the moment the third greatest player in New England Patriots history was let go. As you say, the day he signed with Cincinnati, I packed away my Pats gear and donned black in mourning of Brandon Tate's dismissal.

Brandon Tate is the ACC's all-time leader in punt and kickoff returns and continues to be a great player on special teams. Great for him.

As for the guys who remain, I was surprised that Julian Edelman was the one arrested Monday night when it's Chad Ochostinko who is desperately groping to find his place in this offense.

have a thread already going on this..

Glad to see guys do well, even if its not here

he was a Good KR last year and the replacement for Ellis Hobbs after going two years without a Good return man, i guess he's down fall was not being Good on KR covrage and Matthew Slater is + he's not a great WR, i will not lose any sleeping over BB cutting him but i also did not see a reason to cut him

Tully Banta-Cain just won the Super Bowl on Madden 2012. Yet, another personnel blunder for letting him go.

GO TULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( i needed 10 characters)

Madden 2012 ??? Madden 2012 !!!

What is that anyway ??

A kids game?

We cannot afford to have a kick returner who cannot play another position. Tate has trouble getting open and if he is open trouble holding on to the ball. Is the thread intended to stir up crap or are you that clueless as to how our team functions? So you think he's a better returner than Welker?

Still think you're a troll here - time to come clean.

Since that is the case, the question is should I merge this thread with your other thread, or should I merge this thread with the thread that is already in place on Tate being named AFC Player of the Week.

Or perhaps I should move this to the Practice Squad; three threads getting moved there started by one person in a 24 hour span is probably a forum record.

Tate has been huge for me in Madden.
