Personnel Blunders~!

Moss said ONE thing at a press conference. That's it. I'm sure he apologized, and he's damn near begged to come back since then. At the end of the day, he'd make our team better than Ocho Cinco has.

If all he did was "say ONE thing at a press conference," he would never have been traded.

That statement is a complete joke. Neither Meriweather nor Page has seen a defensive snap in their respective team's last two games. Sanders has at least made it on the field (when he hasn't been hurt), but has only started once this season. All three have been benched.

Deion Branch wants to know why you're ignoring the "system fit" argument that homers love to bring out when the Patriots are questioned for passing over players like Matthews.

Is there any doubt that Brandon Tate would've contributed more as a Kick Returner and 3rd/4th WR than what we have now? (Our returners have been struggling to make it back to the 20 yard line this year)

Is there any doubt that Darius Butler would've contributed more as a 3rd/4th CB than what we have now?

Is there any doubt that Leigh Bodden would've contributed more as a 3rd/4th CB than what we have now?

Last but not least, Is there any doubt that Randy Moss would've contributed more than Ocho Cinco has?

Would we be 6-1 or 7-0 right now?

I don't think so ... you are reaching.

Yes, because the Patriots special teams issues aren't just about the returners.

Is there any doubt that Darius Butler would've contributed more as a 3rd/4th CB than what we have now?

Yes, although it's likely that Butler would have been much better.

Is there any doubt that Leigh Bodden would've contributed more as a 3rd/4th CB than what we have now?

No

Last but not least, Is there any doubt that Randy Moss would've contributed more than Ocho Cinco has?

Yes, because we don't know if last year was about Moss being done, or just about Moss having issues.

One thing to keep in mind is that when Butler was let go, they had a top 4 of McCourty, Dowling, Bodden, and Arrington. While Dowling's injury apparently didn't surprise too many people, I'm sure not many people (including the coaches) saw Bodden throwing the fit that he did. When deciding on your #5 CB, special teams are more important than the ability to actually play CB. When that #5 becomes your #3, though, CB skills are way more important.

Bodden was not a great CB in 2009 he had 3 INT's vs a bad rookies QB late in the season that got him he's money and in 2011 was a even worst CB he should have been cut befor the season started, but Darius Butler had a Good rookie season and then took a step back in year two and was cut for Antwaun Molden, would you cut Devin McCourty at the end of the year because he took a step back in year two ? IMO it's all most the same thing,

Meriweather had some off the feild stuff so he cut him and sanders had a pretty big cap hit for a average back up FS, so he went with some JAG's at Safety but it's been 7 games now and none of them are playing Good anuff to be starting in the NFL maybe he should bring in Darren Sharper i know he would be a upgrade even at 35 years old he's still a better Ssfety then what the pats are starting Next to Chung

The fan fallacy:
If the average fan doesn't see something, it doesn't happen. Therefore, free agent workouts with a coaching staff never happen, just the most recent games that players has played.

(If he were an upgrade, he'd be here. Enough said.)

i dont see how he could be any worst and he is a ball hawk

Well the Pats had him in for a workout toward the end of the offseason back when Belichick was reportedly "desperate" for a free safety, yet wasn't signed. And he still hasn't been signed by anybody. That says a lot about where Sharper is right now.

Brandon Tate was just named AFC ST player of the week.

Take him out to a seafood dinner and show your appreciation to him for picking up the award. Tate was less than serviceable with the Patriots. He seems to have found himself a nice niché with the Bengals. Good on him.

Tate had some good returns for us, as well as some long ball catches. He was a threat, which is alot more than what we have this year!

Tate was never a threat for the New England Patriots. I haven't and won't shed a tear for his movement from the squad. The only issues I see with Tate being moved on is that Ochocinco has been a monumental bust (to this point) and our return game has been lacking.

Tate was a BUST here....except for the occasional good KR....he was useless. Now he brings one kickoff back and all of a sudden he's an offensive weapon that could be helping us now. Guy had ton of opps to show what he could do...BTW, don't think many guys are going to be running them back well consistently due to new KO rules....

Brandon Tate would be our fastest, or one of the fastest players on our team. We're lacking a real deep threat and Welker has been lucky to break out for two long balls. Our return game has been pathetic and Tate was atleast a threat as a returner.

Not to mention the mess at Safety. Getting rid of Meriweather, Page, and Sanders while having no replacement.

like I mentioned in a separate thread.......BB is starting to remind me of Pitino......

In all honesty how can you spend two #1 (McCourtey, Merriweather), the first two picks in the second round: (33) Ras-I Made of Glass (34) Chung, a few more 2nds (Butler, Wheatley), a FA Bodden, and a boat load of other picks and only come away with two starters, and the rest are not on the team and you have undrafted free agents starting at the other two positions!!

Nobody can defend these personell moves.

Umm . . . as far as the secondary goes, the only other high pick they've made in the first four rounds is Wilhite.

and they will all continue to look the same as long as there is no pass rush.......revis would not last in this situation

There's a lot of posters defending these personnel moves.
