This game will be bigger than any Tuna bowl that was ever played.. Of course its a one game season, and that make this game more enitincing.. But the Jets cant use that Bill Belichick does not call Eric Mangini by his name when talking about the Jets... If you read the Globe, Mike Reiss quotes Belichick saying how it will be a challenge how Mangini, and his staff have done a great job.. All I know is , I wish the game was here , because this game will be a classic..

It's funny, it should be, but it doesn't have the same feel as the original Tuna Bowls of the late 90's. Perhaps it's that neither coach is a media personality. Perhaps it's because there is no clear understanding of the current feud (at least one that we fans know of). Or maybe it's that the first border war was already won by the Patriots.

This is a big game, and division rivals bring out the worst in one another....but it hardly has the tension of a Tuna Bowl.

Of course, I say that now. :)

This game has marvelous vibes!
I could scarcely believe the stars aligned so as to permit it.

It is fraught quite enough with meaning and symbolism
to make up for the Bill-Bill / Brady-Bledsoe SuperBowl
which apparently won't occur after all.
(Sorry, Owens. Sorry, Glenn.)

dont know about tuna bowl but the BB/Mangini handshake must have received as much press as a handshake between presidents during the cold war.! its just going to get nuttier the hype.

The ny media/jets and other national media just keep saying BB doesnt respect mangini or mention his name etc. They never bother to go back to when mangini was hired when BB gave quite a +ve statement. No one bothers to find out what happened because BB never says anything so make mangini out to be the good guy.

The game would be bigger if we played Denver. This game is either a chance to progress in the playoffs, or be embarrassed at losing to a much weaker team.

Bigger with the Broncos? Are you kidding?

Boston vs New York. BB vs NY Media. BB vs Mangini. Teacher vs Student. Handshake vs Hand Gesture. Brady vs Bridget. Kevin Faulk vs Faukin' ARod.

Sorry, I got carried away with that last one.

I misspoke. IMHO, for football fans, and long-time patriot fans, pats-denver is a much bigger matchup than pats-jets.

Denver/Pats - classic matchup for the long-time fans.

Jets/Pats - decent football interest, over-the-top side show inteerst.

This game is going to be one-sided. Pats will win by 2 touchdowns and it won't even be that close.

The sides were very heated back in the Tuna Bowl days.

I'd say that for me, as a fan, I'm going to be much more into this game being that it's a Playoff game against a Division foe. I hate the Broncos, but losing to them in the playoffs would not be nearly as bad as losing to a division rival.

The Jets game this week is the biggest of the year for me as a fan.

I'm not sure at all how the Players would view it, but for me that's the fact.

BB VS MANGINA PART III - PATRIOTS STRIKE BACK

hmmm, don't know about this one. The jets lure you in with the dink and dunk and then take their shots at stretching the field. I think this will be a close game, I am glad this game occurred, I have more interest in this one then a Denver - Pats re-match. This one should be a good one....

The last time they met, the jets had two weeks to get ready. This time they have only 1 week. The pat's are on a role the last 3 weeks and scoring a lot of points and the D has stepped up big time. Bill has let the dogs out and their coming with a furry. This game will not be close.

BB may have taught Mangine, but he did not teach him every thing. The teacher never teaches the pupil everything, they make them learn on their own.

It should be a great chess match. The Pats arguably have the better team though. This is one that we can win and we are hosting so... I foresee a Pats victory. Though it will probably be only by 7-10 points.

Id be much more nervous if we swept them in the regular season. They know the Jets beat them and its gotta be a bitter feeling for them. Belichick' record in the playoffs against teams that beat him in the regular season is pretty good.

Agreed !

I would love to have had a chance at revenge against the Broncos, but beating the Jets will be very enjoyable too.

And yes, it IS the biggest game of the year, as the next one, after this one, will be , too.
