Jason Taylor considering retirement?

I'll help pay his pension if he retires. I'm sure BB would also chip in. Brady too.

Maybe this will push Saban over the edge to take the $40M from Alabama :)

If Saban leaves, btw, and the Dolphins go into a much needed rebuild Belichick would kill to trade for Taylor. I realize that in division trades are tricky but Belichick would LOVE this guy and we have the draft picks to make it worth the Dolphins' effort to listen.

One big problem, Taylor's contract is for $9.4 mill in 2007

At age 32 they could probably get that agreeable to both sides. Bledsoe aside, trades in the division are rare so it's an extreme longshot. But Belichick would love him and Taylor HAS to want a chance to win - the $$$ could be worked out especially with us about $30M under the cap next year.

Taylor from MIA

Fletcher from BUF

Who do we pilfer from NYJ?

Why...Poteat of course...!

He needs to pull a Seau. "Bye everyone, i'm done!!"..."Hello everyone, I'm a Patriot!!"

Why would BB want an underweight DE who plays best in a 4-3 defense? It's not like we're short of talent on the defensive line.

He can't do that as he'd still be under contract to the Dolphins. But a trade . . . :rocker:

Did you watch him in Saban's defense this year ????

Please. BB would LOVE to get Taylor. Every coach alive would.

Now we aren't ever going to get him but the idea we wouldn't want him is ludicrous.

Poteat? No way. After we crush the Jets, BB will rehire Mangini as a ballboy again.

Matt Light will drive him to the airport if he decides to.

I hope not--hating the jets was never any fun with Herm at the helm. We need Mangina there to foster rivalry...

Unfortunately, Taylor can't do that with 1 year remaining on his contract. Seau's contract was up with the Phins or they had cut him. I don't remember which. Anyways, Taylor would still be obligated to the Phins if he wanted to come back before the 2008 season. Well, unless he payed back a pro-rated portion of his signing bonus.

As for Taylor's 9.4 million contract, I'd pay it for one year. He's worth it. Having him at OLB opposite Colvin and next to Warren would make the Pats defense disgustingly good.

I know, my empathy was too strong for those poor suffering Jests with Herm rubber their bottoms and staging twice daily press conferences.

Taylor at OLB in BB's 3-4

If Miami ever let Jason Taylor go, the few fans they have left would burn the city down.

But with Hermie "you play to win the game" Baby at the helm I could enjoy watching the Jests play. As much as I now dislike "The Puffin", at least he has a brain in his head....enough so that I'm back to worrying about the Jetsts as a divisonal threat.

I'm back to rooting for the Jests to suck, as opposed to just effortlessly and joyfully reveling in their suctitude. It's not so much respect for Mangina as it is missing the hands-down worse coach in the NFL.
