Hope that Roethlisberger,Wallace,Keisel,Miller,Woodley,Harrison,Polamalu are all on IR?

Or maybe the Steelers give us mercy and spot us 14 points?

That seems to be the only chances

The Patriots nearly across the board played as bad of a game as possible and they lost by 8 points, 2 of questionable origin, and you really believe this? Once every 7 years the NFL schedules the Pats @ Steelers on Halloween and things get turned upside down. If they played again I would have a lot more confidence going against the Steelers than I would the Ravens or Jets.

The defense is a complete mess right now but even so that was their worst effort. The offense was just ok but given the time of possession they never got on track. The O-line will see better days certainly.

Interesting that they don't put themselves out there by devoting any air time to the Draft before it occurs and diss anyone that proposes to talk about the draft and a draftnick! Only now after a loss do they jump all over the person making the decisions ... always the contrairian for ratings points.

felger and mazz suk. nothing but verbal diarrhea. that is all.

two weeks ago they were praising the defense, now its gloom and doom, they're more schizophrenic than some of the posters here.

Robo,

I tied to be nice, but you're an ignorant fool. You have no facts except, "You're wrong, Bill is great!" Go put on your Bruschi shirt and leave us alone. The tide has turned. Patriot fans have had it with the fanboy excuse crowd on this website. Belichick has lost his fastball and if it wasn't for Tom Brady they would be in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. The fact is 5% of Patriot still believe this team is a Super Bowl contender. You could take any issue and there is always a 5% holdout. That's all you are a 5 percenter.

Calling another poster an ignorant fool is extremely poor form..

There are many of us who believe in this team, and believe in BB.. there are highs and lows in any season, and we hit a low.

If they come back next Sunday and play really well, then the the tone of this whole board will change..

You have no idea what you are talking about, 5%'er, is foolish many of us who have longevity on this board have seen the highs and lows, and seen folks who come here and buy into what the resident contrarians like Borges, Felger and Mazzarotti are saying and sooner or later realize they how foolish they are.. talk radio exists on doing/saying controversial things, that is what drives ratings and for some reason folks listen more. Not necessarily informed/educated football fans..

Soon Felger and Mazz will be televised and that can fill part of your day, if you choose..

Felger is a moron...would never listen to that tool

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts

You get what you pay for. I can't imagine listening to those two. One celebrates being a dbag and the other has to catch his breath because he's so excited about how he's turning the screw on his current target. Thank god for Sirius.

Gee wiz, I wouldn't go that far. I do not beleive this team is going to a SB this year, that's for sure, but I don't think they would be in the Luck sweepstakes if it weren't for Brady either. The coaching staff is actually pretty good...it's the talent evaluation that sometimes comes into question. For every fanboy, there someone like you.....and I thought I was bad! LOL!

The rebuild started the offseason before the 2009 season, and after 3 offseasons it looks like the defense is where it was or maybe regressed since then. You definitely have to question the personnel moves. And the rebuild started with 2 firm blocks already in place Wilfork and Mayo so the overall process should not take more than 3 years. The rest outside those 2 has been a constant carousel, and this current product is not what you want to see. They had a couple pretty good outings, a couple average ones, and a couple pathetic ones. If they don't turn it around in a big way soon it's time to find a new GM or a new 'sidekick'.

It's all Ernie Adams' fault :)

I think Felger is going way overboard with the onside kick being the same as 4th and 2 against the Colts in 2009. He basically thinks this will be the deathnail in the season because Belichick showed he had zero faith in the defense and they must be questioning themselves and pointing fingers.

Even after he learned that Gostkowski called an audible for that call, he said that even giving Ghost the option shows a lack of faith and should never have done it. Rather than softening his stance after finding out that Belichick called it to kick off and if there is an opening, Gostkowski had the option to kick an onside kick; he just stuck to his theory and just stretched his credibility on it. He even said it was worse than 4th and 2 because at least in 4th and 2 was put in Brady's hands.

The fact of the matter is a lot of teams probably would have kicked an onside kick in that position. You have over a 1 in 3 chance of recovering that kick in this situation and with the kick off moved up this year the risk is minimized a bit. Many coaches would take that chance.

I think if Gronk's non-TD was called a TD like it should or Belichick called for a challenge right away and won, it would have been a stupid move with over 3 minutes and three time outs. But with a little over 2 minutes and three time outs, you can kinda go either way. I probably would have kicked off and not given Gostkowski the option, but I don't buy that this is season ender like many people thought 4th and 2 turned out to be.

When I was in college a course I took included a pretty comprehensive treatment of World War I. The Germans employed what was very likely the first example of toxic warfare via their use of a poisonous substance called "mustard gas." I vividly remember a classmate asking the professor, "What was the American troops' primary means of dealing mustard gas?" His reply was, "They were advised by their commanding officers to avoid contact with it at all costs." A wise person might follow the same advice when it comes to Felger.

Sad but true, sucks knowing the defense is pathetic and that it has little to no chance of improving enough to be serious contenders. Having Brady and Belichick is not enough anymore, team needs more talent at all 3 levels of the defense.

I don't plan on talking about the draft, but I was curious what everyone thought about this topic, and the Felger and Mazz show.

Thanks

Russ

Send a PM to FredFromDartmouth, he has a Felger and Mazz shrine at his house ....

Right now this team will have to worry about making the playoffs in the first place.

Any team with a half decent QB has a chance against the Pats.

I believe the Pats can play better than that.

For one, if you win the toss, so not defer to the 2nd half. Establish a running game. Run 20 times in a row and pound the crap out of the Steelers defense. Dont do what the Steelers are expecting the Pats to do.

Bill has been living on legend defensively for a while now. blame the players all you like. Matter of fact i watched some of what NE's defense used to look like last night against the chargers, wearing red and white. coincidence?
Bill is the greatest coach in my lifetime, no one else i'd rather have, but the GOAT needs some new coordinators jawing with him like he used to Parcells back in the day.
go pats

And theres 5% that think we're doomed after every loss and never going to win another game.
