THey can not consistently stop the run.
They lost 42-0 to Jacksonville.

The PATS need to use healthy doses of Dillon, Maroney and Faulk in the first half until they are ready be fed a steady diet of play action passes.

In my mind, Dillon is the key to this game for the offense

The Jets offense on the other hand is 17th with the pass and 20th with the run. The PATS need to take away their short passing game and put some heat on Pennington.

The Jets have allowed the fewest points in the NFL the 2nd half of the season (last 8 games since their bye week). They also have a sharp O-coordinator, a savvy QB, and 2 outstanding WRs. They are formidable, though I still believe the Pats will blow them out...

There's a reason that Football Outsiders' stats, which takes schedule into account, has The Jest ranked low - because THEY SUCK.

FO rankings :

19th overall, 21st weighted (weights in favor of last 8 games).
Offense 15th (Weighted 16th), Defense, 27th (Weighted 28th)
Their run defense is ranked 32nd

THEY SUCK.

They've played crap. Their win against us was their only win of the year against a winning team.

CRAP.

maybe the pats should totally surprise them and start cassel or go with the option or go run and shoot.

I think we could still beat them even if we let a senile 70 year old coach our team for the game.

let's just hope the pats don't trick themselves while trying to trick the jets. don't get fancy, still to meat and potatoes with a dash of tobasco

Stats dont mean anything. 20th rush offense? I recall Barlow running us over

and no point in looking @ rush defense when u dont try to take advantage(example: Colts)

Stats dont mean anything.
Sure they do. After a full season they give a very clear picture of the strengths and weaknesses of teams.

it doesnt matter because coach mangini have the blueprint of the pats offense

well, in that case, you'd think they'd have done a lot better than lose to us at home and have to stop us on the final drive of the worst game we played all year in order to beat us...it's simple, we pick up the blitzes (and, you don't think Eric--who I concede is effing brilliant--is going to get away with confusing a BB Offense twice in the same season do you?) and we have Dillon and Maroney both healthy and we win...not to say that it won't be a hard fought divisional contest, but we'll win.

Considering that we never used our running game fully during any regular game, our RBs should still have a lot of gas left in them. Maybe BB is saving those strategies to be unleashed during the playoffs...

I think I am on to something...:)

No he doesn't, but you just keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel like you know something.

Mangini was the beneficiary of poor Pats play and the Pats missing some key players such as Ty Warren, Stephen Neal and Rodney Harrison. Not to mention Seymour not being even 80% with his elbow.

That poor play won't happen this time around.

So, just sit back in Ft. Lauderdale and watch the play-offs like all the other football fans on the outside looking in.

And we still outgained The Jest by 50% even though everyone said we were outcoached. We weren't. We just f*cked up. Again, what's the odds of that happening in the playoffs against a poor team ?

i said they dont mean anything if u dont try to take advantage. like the Colts game..we didnt try to run enough when it was CLEARLY their biggest weakness

Early score prediction: Pats win 31-9. This will be a violent beat-down, a grudge match the Jets are not mentally or physically prepared for. All the motivational movies and lockerroom psychobabble from Man-Gina can't prepare a team for Warren, Seymour and Wilfork, the Dogs of War.

Barlow did no such thing. ButBarlow had 75 yards on 17 carries. That is ok. That is hardly "RUNNING OVER US." But, I think you also need to be reminded that Warren didn't play that game and Seymour was still pretty hurt.

I'm on record as wanting to run it down their throats but we do have a HoF QB too. Bottom line, run, pass, whatever . . . if we don't turn the ball over (like we haven't for 3 games), we win by 13 or more and are snoozing in the 4th quarter.
