Please, if there's a God, let it be Jim Mora, Sr.
No one in Atlanta really cares about winning football. They will never have a serious playoff threat with Vick at QB, but they play him to sell tickets. Sort of like an NBA/NFL hybrid team, lots of flash and no substance. As for Mora, he cut his own throat with the University of Washington rant.

Sad to say, but you hit it on the head. The NFL is pouring millions of dollars into foreign markets to promote the game, but it has difficulty filling stadiums domestically in cities like Atlanta and LA.
By the way, the Falcons have never, never had back to back winning seasons in their entire franchise history. Talk about schizophrenic!
problem is now getting rid of Vick is hard..he did sign a 10 yr $100 mil contract didnt he?
It was a 10 year $130M deal signed way too early to assess his ability to progress beyond being an athlete. His bonus was $37M, but is was not all signing bonus, he's been getting it somewhat in dribs and drabs. The deal was signed in 2004, just before the season ended, so that several million of it likely got absorbed then. Probably another year or so before the dead cap gets reasonable, but Blank is still too enamored of his star to go that route anyway. The thing that will bring it to a head for the next poor sucker to HC him is he is getting progressively more defensive and entrenched and vocal where his critics or criticism are concerned. Could become a real cancer down there. I bet Lawyer didn't enjoy his stay in Atlanta even as much as the one in Buffalo.
