And makes him a team captain for the Pats game.

why? they dont have enough money tied up in corners?

He has to WAIT a LONG time before he has a crack at signing him.
27-28 Teams have PRIORITY before the JETS:D

some teams in he Gints and even the Cowboys may look here...

TENN wanted Bodden before we signed him. Is the love still there?

who else is Battered DB-wise?

he would be a nice fit for the cowboys they have a pass rush to help him out

lol he would be like 6th on their depth chart at corner. Not a chance they claim him.

While it is true that many teams will have a chance to sign Bodden before the Jets do, I am doubtful that he will be claimed off waivers. For a team to do so that would mean that they will be picking up his current contract, and I don't believe anybody will do that. Bodden's salary is $3.9 million so if a team claimed him they would be responsible for whatever the remaining amount of this year's salary is, I'm guessing about $2.2 million.

If it turns out to be the case that nobody claims him, then Bodden becomes an unrestricted free agent and can negotiate with any team for any price the two sides agree upon. However, with Bodden not playing special teams, how many teams are going to be in the market for him? Some may, but I don't see the Jets being one of them.

thnx for pointing that out JMT

an URFA Bodden could be had for more $$$ than what the JETS would ever offer:)

the thing I don't get is how his past contract will effect OUR CAP since we cut him this year are we still on tap for $ 2012 $$$ if he signs elsewhere?

plz let me know:) I am not familiar w/ the Cap game too much.

i'm not sobber if there aqre grammar issues my bad

The remaining pro-rated portions of Bodden's signing bonus will be counted against the 2012 cap. In this case that will be $3 million to the 2012 cap. Bodden had a 4-year deal through 2013 with a $6m signing bonus; that works out to $1.5m per year against the cap, all that gets pushed up to next season's cap.

Sober or not that's a good question. :D

Atlanta and Houston have been kicking the tires on JAG cb's in recent weeks. You'd have to think they would be interested.

Should of traded Bodden for a 5th. But I guess that shipped sailed a few weeks ago.

Bodden would be the Jets' #4 corner (Kyle Wilson has looked really good for them as the slot CB so far). Not a good fit.

Not exactly a huge market for an overpaid, underachieving Corner Back with 2 years left on his deal.

If a team wanted him that bad, they will surely pick him up on Waivers before others get a shot at signing him.

how do you know that they never tried?

It must be the Xanax plus the BEWS ;):):) w/e

I can't tell mediocre drunk from buzzed. ( I don't know if it is just me???)

If I had to guess brother PAT I'd say in the MIDDLE of Drunk and Buzzed:)
