Dowling Injury Woes Continue, Fletcher Remains Out

Tate over Wallace is another example. Tate had an ACL injury in college. But yet they took him anyway.

Thank you Monday Morning GM! It isn't another example other than to your ignorant (I mean in the misinformed sense) eye. No one thought Mike Wallace was going to be a good player. He was a project at best at draft time. Many people had him no higher than a 5th rounder. No one said the Pats should have taken Wallace. In fact, many people thought the Steelers reached for Wallace. He was raw and believed to be more potential than production.

You know what? People thought the Pats were crazy to take Rob Gronkowski because he missed his entire final year and could have spinal stenosis. Why not blast Belichick for wasting a pick on an injury prone TE who probably has a genetic condition that will end his career before it starts.

Bill has been living off the fruits of picking Brady in the sixth round for a decade now. Brady has made dozens of bad picks seem insignificant due to him being one of the two best QB's ever to play. My frustration is that without one more ring he can never be considered the best. Bill in my opinion has squandered possible championship seasons due to poor personnel decisions. Its time to recognize that Bill is a great coach, maybe the best gameday gameplanner ever, but a crappy personnel guy.
Let me brace mysely for the blind mice barrage.

Wow all of the brilliant minds have come out today!!!!!

The Patriot's defense is not at the point where they could take fliers on People.

Every draft pick is a flier, even those in the top 10. To pretend like there were sure fire players available at 28 or later is foolish.

That said I'm not particularly fond of taking players with injury history in the top 50 or so picks, despite how well it worked with Gronk.

Oh I totally agree! Fire Belichick! He is the reason this team always finishes last place in the division year after year and never sniffs the playoffs. If he could draft, the Pats wouldn't be 1-5 right now.

You need to learn the difference between "a couple of bad drafts while picking at the bottom of every round" and "a crappy personnel guy". The first happens with pretty much every top team, which is why they end up not staying on top forever. The second is specific to the individual.

In this case, it's pretty clear that we're dealing with the first scenario rather than the second.

This team doesnt spend big bucks on defensive players via free agency so they have to do a good job drafting players.BB for being such a defensive guru has struck out alot more in the draft in terms of defensive players.McCourty has regressed this year.I hope he starts picking it up again.

For the last several years the pundits have gushed how the Pats own the draft, and we are always in the best shape of all teams. Let me ask all the Pats fans, where is all the drafted talent on defense? Even on offense, with the exception of the tight ends? Do we have an Ed Reed, Woodson, D Ware, Ray Lewis? Loads of high draft picks, some good players, zero game changing impact players.. Intelligent responses welcome.

I got this Mercedes...it's got 100,000 miles on it...it performs exactly as it did when I bought it in 2001...it's classy, extemely reliable and boasts world class engineering....I hate it...think I'll try one of them new fangled Hyundai's....

Reed/Woodson/Lewis..... all old players so, if you're talking about living off of Brady, you can't use them in your argument.

P.S. Mayo > Lewis, Wilfork = game's best NT

Hope that helps

Tonight, on "Is He Smart?"...

You guys have no sense of humor. If you need me, I'll be over hear thinking about an actual football game that my 5-1 team is going to play. You all can continue worrying about whatever nonsense you're talking about and keep being no fun at all.

Oy, fine, yes, if we're going to get technical, we don't need to play the game. Forgive me for treating his comments like the joke they are :p

Sorry..... I'm just tired of the "racist" stuff being tossed around as a way to silence critics. Now, if you'd gone with "raciss", I'd have understood that you weren't serious.

Tell the other 52 players of the Patriots I said "yo."
