Just curious what the TV experts are thinking on this.

Is GB @ NYG protected ?

NYJ @ WASH
Det @ NO
ATL @ Hou

They all look like better games.

I'd bet yes on it being flexed out. The only people who want to watch Colts games are fans of the opposing team.

Speaking of flexing, the week 17 game against the Bills may be a candidate. Perhaps...

-To decide the AFC East champion
-Patriots fighting for a bye while the Bills fight for a Wild Card spot
etc.

GB being undefeated is a big marketing tool.

NYG are still a NY team - big market.

2 reasons for that matchup to top the other 3.

personally I think Det-NO is probably the best quality football & competitive football game.

I would imagine it will be, the colts are horrible, the games they play are not entertaining. Given Brees threw for 5 TDs, TFB will do that and more. It could look like the Lions vs the Christians......the network might have to change the rating to PGMA....

Only if we sign a waiver that we won't put up 100 points or more on them. Seeing that the Colts arn't even trying to win anything but a draft at this point is a very dull market for the veiwers making this game null and void, so yes, a change is coming IMO.

Flexed out, if anything. Two and possibly three of those other games will have a lot more national interest, unless it's Peyton's first game back or something.

For team it will be good to pick up another 1pm game instead of a night game.

watching the colts suck for luck is funny......they may be so bad that luck will say that there's no way he's playing there

Odds are good that it will be flexed out, but there is no guarantees. The Pats do get good ratings even if the game will likely be a blowout.

Are you sure that there is a Sunday night game on week 17? It comes on January 1 this year and the NFL schedule doesn't list a week 17 8:30 start for any games.....

NFL Schedule: Regular Season

After last night, I can see NBC trying to get the NFL to give them the ability to flex games earlier in the season.

NFL retains the right to flex a SUn afternoon game into Sun night if there are playoff implications involved.

"The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot to conclude the season."

It took a while for me to find the flex rules when I was wondering about the rules when I first read this thread. Google doesn't seem to work (you have to go to NFL.com schedule page and then click on a small headernote 'flex schedule procedures'. )

Danke for that info ! ;)

After last night, I'm pretty sure alll Colts SNF will be flexed out. Sucks for us out of towners, hopefully we get another one in return afterwards

it will absolutely be flexed but on the bright side it's hard to see how NBC will pass up on Patriots/Eagles. they got Steelers/Chiefs lined up for that week.

I thought that Payton was put on IR...

Except the Steelers are 5-2 and will be in the hunt and KC has rebounded to 3-3 and worst case will be 5-5 with wins against Denver and Miami and losses to the Pats and maybe the Chargers. Although I think they'll beat the Chargers and be 6-4.

The Steelers have a very hard stretch against NE, Baltimore and @ the surprising Bengals. They could go into that game at 6-4 or even lose all three. I think they'll be amped up for revenge on the Ravens though.

Also NBC, or FOX for that matter, can block any one game each week from being flexed. There's no better game than NE @ Philly that week so they'll protect it for certain.

I hope the game is flexed out and is not nationally televised in whatever time slot. That way I don't have to worry about the local TV station switching to another game. Granted, with Sunday Ticket, they eventually lift the blackout once they figure out that the national stations have switched, but it takes them forever to figure it out.
