Sanchez beats Brady in QBR

Six weeks into the season, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez outperformed New England Patriots counterpart Tom Brady. According to the Total Quarterback Rating, Sanchez had a better game in Week 6 by a decent margin.Sanchez registered a season-high 64.4 QBR in New York's, 24-6, win over the Miami Dolphins. Sanchez completed 14 of 25 passes for 201 yards and two TDs (one passing, one rushing).

Brady struggled in New England's 20-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He registered a 56.8 QBR after completing 27 of 41 passes for 289 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.Brady won the head-to-head meeting with Sanchez in Week 5. Brady is No. 2 overall in season QBR at 78.8. Sanchez is No. 30 in season QBR at 27.2.

any method of trying to boil down QB play to a single number is going to be flawed. Especially when created by the chuckleheads at ESPN.

Last week tebow had a better rating then Aaron rogers ..... that sums it up.

I can answer this question in one word. Yes!

Interesting use of the world outperform...

I thought QBR was supposed to take into account the clutch performances... stuff like game winning drives late in the 4th quarter...?

Whatever. I wish Reiss's ESPN blog would stop posting where Brady ranks in QBR so I could just never see it again. I don't need this crap to be shoved in my face just so that ESPN can prop up their meaningless idea.

laugh and move on... after all is BSPN :D

well, its not like they can go back and fudge their numbers

whatever happens happens, its all based on their formula

HOWEVER....it would NOT be so quick to report such anomalies as this

Well Sanchez is 30 all season so...

ESPN is only talking about this last weekend's games and not the entire season in which the article states that TB season QBR is much higher . . . TB played okay on Sunday, but when you throw 2 INTs it is going to be tough to beat another in any type of QB rating when the other guys does not throw any INTs . . .

and Brady just played the 4th best defense in the league while the Jets struggled to take out a horrible Dolphins team.

ESPN is such a Mickey Mouse organization in more ways than just ownership.

Football is the ultimate team sport and except for Wins/Losses and turnover ratio, all other statistics lie.

Yes, I agree, and Brady leaded the team in a great last drive

Using QBR isn't quite as bad as using PFF, but anyone using either of them should be mocked without mercy.

I'm guessing Sanchez probably had a better passer rating than Brady in week 6, too. Brady did throw two picks. That said, I don't get QBR.

:yeahthat:

Let me make it real simple for you all.

There are two QB's you have to pick for your team....Sanchez and Brady.

Which one are you going to pick.

I used to watch ESPN's NFL Countdown and that was all of BSPN I could handle, however nowadays the NFL Network's pre-game is much better leaving me literally with absolutely no reason to watch this network.

None

Sanchez....Brady.....which one are you gonna pick

How long do I have to decide?
