Why is it that EVERY Football analyst and mediot is ALREADY crowning this kid the next Peyton....Elway.....Montana.....or Brady??? I mean the kid hasn't even played ONE down in the accelerated game that is the NFL and already they are all salivating over who will get the "next great one" in next year's draft! I remember a certain #1 pick that came out the same year as Drew Bledsoe....and he was going to be the next Marino.....going to challenge all the records....and win countless SB's......you might remember his name.....Ryan Leaf????

... I don't think Ryan Leaf came out the same year as Drew Bledsoe.

No,Rick Mirer did

Mirer got as much attention as Bledsoe that year and as Luck is this year.

Mirer sucked in Seattle and was worse in Chicago

For those who thought Bledsoe was only so-so,Imagine if the Pats at #1 took Mirer and Seattle took Bledsoe?

Leaf was behind a guy named Peyton Manning....rings a bell eh?

I don't wish anything bad for this fellow, but I admit it would have a certain satisfying irony if he turned out to be a bust.

You are right.,.....my bad......bledsoe 1993....Leaf 1998!

He has Stanford ranked 7th in the nation. The guy would have been the number 1 pick this year if he came out. I haven't heard him compared to Brady. But in terms of the other three; the need to compare him to Elway is obvious and I think most sane people have stated that he is the most NFL ready QB to come out since Manning. I haven't heard Montana comparisons either.

The guy is the best QB in college football, he is probably the smartest as well I don't know to many stupid people that have graduated from Stanford. The kid is the real deal. His situation reminds me of Matt Ryan's last year, he took a BC team that without him would not have been ranked, to number 2 in the country. What is more impressive with Luck is that he picked up right where he left off and Harbaugh left.

If you watch him play it is obvious why everyone is so high on him.

Barkely might end up better...USC won't put duds like Sanchez out all the time.

Even Lance Jones might be a sleeper from the Sooners

I didn't finish readding after your .... I thought that was the end of your post and I assumed you were referring to Rick Mirer.

Schocking Fact of the day: Mirer was the Rookie of the Year, look it up.

(UNTIL teams found out through film study that he couldn't throw to his left, like the Zoolander of QBs)

Your hear that **** every year about some prospect in some position.

I just hope he doesn't go to Miami. The joke of a QB that is Sanchez has been annoying enough.

The guy is the greatest QB prospect since Peyton Manning in a QB driven league. That said, prospects are about potential and not production. Although people think he is Pro ready, it doesn't mean he won't be a huge bust.

He does have everything you would look for in a QB prospect down to the intangibles and the pedigree (his father was a QB for the Oilers and has coached in NFL Europe and at the college level).

Barkley is good and I thought for sure he was going to transfer out of USC when they were hit with sanctions. I would be surprised if he came out this year, after all he has started 3 seasons at USC, two of which they were not bowl eligible. I would think he would come back his senior year and play for a national championship.

I personnaly don't think Jones is even in the discussion with Luck. If he played behind the Sooners line and had their skill guys he would own every QB record there is in the NCAA.

I'd love to see the Patriots trade for the kid. The Pandemonium throughout the NFL AND the Patriots fan base would be something on a level never seen before over a draft pick.

The simple answer is that they need something to talk about.

Give the Dolphins or the Colts (surely one of them will have the first pick) a 1st & Mallett and BOOM!!! ESPN thought drafting Mallett was a surprise, wait till they see this. :singing:
