Does it seem like opponent teams play their best games against the Pats or what?

So everyone was wondering which Tony Romo we would end up seeing...

we saw the "good" Romo, so I have to ask, the teams we face usually play an AWESOME game, no stupid mistakes, no easy picks

it cant be attributed to our defense every time, people say we make average QB's look elite, well they PLAY elite when they face us, play horrible when they face other teams

even today, 7 years after our last SB win, we get every team's best shot, they bring their A game when they face us, when we win, we beat the best a team can offer

its funny to think about, and it sort of shows that each 'W' this team earns IS a lot more than a 'W' another team might get

People hate the Patriots.

A good Romo would have taken advantage of 1-1 coverage on Bryant on 3rd & goal...

Doesn't seem that way to me. Just as a quick example, last year the Pats absolutely demolished the Super Bowl losers, at Heinz Field no less. That was NOT their best game.

Man I taped the game and just watched the end....I think I am gonna need to buy a defribulator on the off week.

Great freaking drive, Brady was pinpoint today and the defense played lights out, esp when we needed them. The coach I think put a lot of wind in their sails telling them to go out and get the cowboys off the field. Our D fed off of that.

Great game. Just a great game...those Ryan boys got some good D schemes...

yeah but the pats kind of always had the steelers number except for the regular season game in 04.

On some level I do believe the teams we face crank up the intensity level just because they're playing the patriots. It's now less noticeable but in 2007 you could really feel it. After all, Rex Ryan did challenge the league to beat us...hahaha.

Of course they do. Even though the Pats haven't won a SB in seven seasons, the perception is still that they're one of the best teams in the league year in and year out. That doesn't change as long as Brady is under center and Belichick is at the helm. And if this defense can shape up, this team will be scary down the stretch.

Forget Benny Hinn, when the Pats come into town, we heal the sick, the lame walk, the blind see, amazing!

Halifax - It wasn't a great game by any stretch of the imagination. It was actually a very UGLY game. Brady had 2 ints, of which the 2nd was totally his fault. Hernandez had a fumble that hurt the Pats. Slater also fumbled a KR which gave the Boys the ball back and allowed them to take a short lead, 6-3.

That being said, Rob Ryan definitely had some good schemes, but the players played well and executed well.. Our O-line was over-matched at times and missed blocking assignments. Those misses nearly got Brady killed.

I absolutely agree. That's the exact thought I had when it was 4th Q and Romo was still having a consistent game. It's been a pattern since '09 (or even '08), average teams perform better than their average when they face off. How many times have we heard the phrase "It's their Super Bowl" or they're gonna "bring out the kitchen sink" against a multitude of opponents from the '09 Saints, '09 Broncos, '09 Lions, '09 Jets x2, '10 Jets, '10 Bills, to America's Game this weekend. You can see every game that all our opponents take this team very seriously. The last team I can think of that came flat out unprepared against us was the '09 titan, and we all remember what happened in that game. If Brady/BB do get that 4th ring, it would be a work of wonder considering what they have had to face...let alone the fact that we are in the salary cap/free agency era.

What makes a game ugly, overall? The mistakes in the beginning (admittedly of which they were many)? How about the overall effort from this much misaligned D, and one of TFB's finest performances under pressure...not to mention that final score? I'll admit I was ready to throw in the towel on more than one occasions during that heart pounding 60 minutes...but then I'm glad I'm not TFB, or BOB, or AH, or any one of our fine defense men today. I'll tell you one thing, if our team can pull off a performance like this any weekend of the postseason, I'll be SO proud of them despite the 4 turnovers and measly 20 points.

If teams aren't bringing their "A" game to every opponent then there is an issue.

YES
We are still the team everyone uses to measure up with. Even the Colts and Squeelers.
Everone here in Carolina is a fan of anothen team and not a Panther Fan.
Thank God no Jet fans.

They all use US as there measuring stick.
Look at the Packes last year. Losing that close game to us at home gave them a feeling they could beat anyone. The Giants said the same year they won the SB.
They don't say that beating the Saints or Giants. For some teams its there SB.

We are still the one everyone wants to beat!

Doesn't necessarily mean the Pats get everybody's "best" game though. Plenty of teams show up and crap the bed vs them. Titans 59-0 anyone?

This is exactly right and it is a good thing. We get better practice (as long as we avoid injury).

Haters are jealous of what we have here .......
they will select any excuse to justify it .....

that why we should always be proud of our team ......
GO PATS :):rocker:

True, it makes me wonder how frequently Romo ever changes the play at the line. Because if there was ever a time to do it, that has to be it, right? Bryant/Bodden had to be a matchup that they liked.

2-2 coming off the bye week. That's more than enough reading into it for me....

We definitely saw the "good" Romo. So much sweeter that we pulled out the win. Romo committed one turnover, early in the game, and the Pats committed 4, and we still won. Awesome.
