Ocho has been limited, but we really need to beat these cowboys. Do you think Ocho will play a bigger role in todays game?

I voted yes, because whats the point in being negative and saying no?

I think eventually it's bound to happen, but haven't we been asking that question the last three games or so? I would be happy that he's involved and makes positve yards. It would be great to see him as an actual threat, but I'll take a few catches here and there for now. I think today we'll see more screens, I think the Cowboys are going to come fast and hard, the Pats offense will have to run, and do quick screens. I don't think Tom will have a lot of time to be looking for Chad to get deep. Just my opinion.

At this point, who cares. I am not knocking the guy and am a defender, but as long as this offense keeps on firing on all cylinders does it matter? If the Pats score 37 points and have 500 yards on offense and Ochocinco only has 3 catches for 30 yards, I don't get why people really care.

Right now, Brady has so many weapons that are producing that Branch had one catch for 4 yards over the two week period in Buffalo and Oakland. Yet, people seem to focus on Ochocinco. He will be the #3 WR and probably 5th option for the foreseeable future barring injuries. I have seen a lot of progress in his understanding of the offense, but there are just too many receiving weapons and not enough balls to go around. Until opposing teams figure out how to shutdown Welker and the TEs, there will be few chances for Ocho to get the ball.

Definition of breakout would probably help....... He's our #3 receiver, probably our #5 or #6 offensive weapon.

If a breakout game is 8-115 and 2 TD's? I'd say that is asking a pretty lot and if we have to go to our 5-6 weapon for that kind of production, we could be in serious trouble.

I assumed you meant in this way, so I voted no. I think we'll win, and be able to do so with our primary guys.

OTOH, if are we talking 4-5 catches for 65-70 yds and a TD? Then yeah, I could actually see that kind of production out of Ocho, if not this week, certainly in the next few. He is obviously more comfortable in the system and each week his routes are crisper and better when he is targeted. I'd hardly call that a breakout game though, even though it's probably twice the production he's had all season.

Wondering if a 33 year old player will have a breakout game cracks me up.

Ocho doesn't get enough snaps to really have a 'breakout' game. He sees the field what 30% of the time compared to Branch and Welker who get twice the snaps. But as long as he contributes, thats a good thing. Who knows if he goes for 5/60, I think that would be a really good game for him.

I voted yes, just so I can enjoy reading the Taylor Price supporters on the board try to spin it into a negative thing...

What does "break-out" even mean? If he catches 5 touchdowns today and no touchdowns for the next 5 games, will he have broken out? I think Ocho is doing all right. We are scoring points and he has had his contributions to that. I think he will continue contributing.

Agreed. I don't know why anyone is worrying about 85.
He is a bit player who gets a few reps at this point. He deserves that amount of attention.
Remarkable to me after all these BB years that people here are still enamored with name value.

I think he will.

ESPN is reporting that the Patriots have shown some interest in Brandon Lloyd. That's a shock to me because I didn't think the Pats needed anymore recievers, but apparently this has Mort thinking that Ocho-Cinco isn't working out and because Lloyd played for McDaniels and knows a little something-something about playing in a Pats-type offense, the Pats may make the deal, I don't know about them paying him though. I doubt NE will get him before the deadline.

I think these so-called trade talks Pats are having with Denver will pressure Ocho-Cinco into having a good game. He'll probably see 50% of the snaps in this game.

If stress causes pimples, then Ocho might have a break-out today...so yes.

Joking (I know not much but i still try) it seems he is improving and he may be due for a game where he has 8-10 targets. Maybe if Dallas can take away option #1 and #2, he may get that opportunity. Might mean Branch gets hurt for it to happen though ;)

define breakout though? with the amount of snaps he gets....I think a breakout game for me would be 60-65yards and maybe a TD...hes not going to get the production welker/Branch get unless(god forbid hopefully it doesnt happen) one has an injury

id like to see him get more opportunities this week though

I look at Ocho as insurance if Branch gets hurt again.....as stated by others here, Pats have too many weapons for him to get a ton of catches.....

I voted yes based off this type of production as well.

I wouldn't count on it. I love Ocho but unless Welker or Branch gets hurt he'll always be the 5th or 6th option in this offense. He might be good for the occasional big play like the one he should have had against Buffalo but aside from that I doubt he ever get consistent production in this offense barring injury. And given he was never really one to make clutch catches or come up big in playoff games I don't see him being a major factor.

No..............

Is he still on the team? :confused2:
