Looks like Brady is going to need to throw the ball alot this week. I think this would be a great week to have Ocho take a back seat and see what Price can do. I think we can live without the 2 receptions a game to see what Price can bring to the table. Cowboys won't know what hit em :rocker:

Only place where people want to do big changes to something that is giving us victory so we can try something. If it does not work and we loss 1 games that is fine ....

similar to
ridley is better than benny as he has less carry and man vareen is better than both as we have not seen him play yet in regular season,so he is definitely better.

what is so hard for people to get? It does not matter who the 5th option is..its not Ocho, its the fact that One of the best WR in the nfl, and the best TE duo in the nfl and Branch who has the same brain as Tom Brady are on the same team as Ocho. Ofcourse its going to be tough for him to get looks.

Ocho is just a matter of time.

This said, the whole concept of depth chart number seems too rigid and counter-productive... The coaches need to either use or be ready to use all 50 players on hand, and they do, except for at a very few positions. There's no reason to believe that BOTH OCHO AND PRICE will have their day soon enough.

The either or crap is counter-productive... the Red Sox had six starting pitchers on opening day and played out september with only two of these starters--and both too tired to pitch effectively.

People want to demonize Ocho Cinco, but in this offense he is usually the #4 choice.. this team has so many reliable weapons, headed by Welker.. there are only so many touches.

Ocho Cinco provides insurance in the event of an emergency.. until then he will be getting 2-5 opportunities a game.

It's not about if he's the "4th or 5th" option, it's about MATCHUPS! Not sure if you remember the bomb to Slater early in the season, he may of been our 4th or 5th best reciever on the field, but on that play he had the best matchup, and I'm sure the opposing defense was sleeping on him a little. Remember one play can win a game and change a season in this league. So you can try to diminish it all you want, but every play and EVERY PLAYER counts!

Not sure why some people want to bench Ocho so soon.....He's not the number one go to guy anymore....but he can still catch those tough ones along the sidelines.....and has seen alot of defenses in his career.....

Price has time to develop without pressure...if he is a better option as the #3 WR or #5 or 6 target, BB will play him.......I think Ocho will be given every chance to stick......if he really screws up consistently...they will part ways.....up until now, he has 9 catches..not amazing...but 136yds of offense isn't zero.......

Ease up....:D

I like Ocho, I think he has great hands and great feet. I think I know what he brings to the table, and I'm sure he will get to the point where he will be able to bring more to the table as the season goes on. BUT... I think it's time to up the PRICE! At least for a few games. He hasn't gotten a chance to play with Brady much, I would like to see what he brings, even if it's taking some reps from Branch as well.

If someone can consistently get open and make plays they'd rise on the 'option chart', why are Gonk and Ahern so high in only their 2nd year? Probably because they're productive and trustworthy, Chad isn't.

If you put Price ahead of Johnson, you probably have to make Johnson inactive. If you do that, you might as well cut him.

Belichick isn't paying Ocho $5.5 million to be the 5th WR

They'd probably like him to be running deep routes and stretching the Defense.

Our best deep threat WR is a TE who had a MCL injury 3 weeks ago - I tend to think both Brady and Belichick would like to have more deep options than that.

So by that logic, should we just cut Price if he continues to be a healthy scratch? Just cuz a guy is on the inactive gameday roster, doesn't mean he can't contribute in the future. If thats what it take to get Price a look for a few games, then I'm all for it. Are we really going to miss his 2 catches that much?

I am sorry but this is the stupidest thread I have read in a long time. What possibly makes you think Price is better than Ocho. What a waste of time this thread is.

not quite yet. Give Ocho another 2 or 3 weeks. But that doesn't mean Price should never play, like he does (not) now.

It's a waste of time because he didn't include the only option that makes sense...How the hell should I know, Belichick doesn't let me watch practice...

Price and Johnson are at different stages of their careers, so your logic doesn't hold. And, yes, I think those 2 catches have been helpful.

It's not whether one is better than the other, as I see it.
We have an unknown quantity in Price.... and it may be worth losing Ocho's limited production thus far to gauge Price in-game.
What is wrong with that?
