Been reading the news and was quite amused to find that it will be Boston's warmest winter since 1990. Could this one of the reasons why the team has been doing poorly at home? With no snow and the warm weather making visiting teams really comfortable, there is one less weapon for the Pats to work with. I am sure the only thing on visiting players mind would be " I'm cold. It's cold. Why is it so cold? I'm cold." under normal circumstances. Heck, that's how I reacted to my first New England winter.

NOW it gets warm in the winter? It seems my four years in college coincided with the coldest winters MA has seen for a bit. Thank you Old Man winter for looking out for me there.

So this is my proposal.

1. The Krafts should get a weather machine built. Just in case.
2. We are allowed to clear snow away from the field for the game right? Are there any rules that bar us from putting snow ONTO the field? If not, I say we grab some snow machines, get some powder out there and let the good times roll! That will give the Colts something legit to complain about.

Well, as fans we'd like to welcome opponents into a nice icehouse, but I'm quite sure the League spoilsports would not consider it proper field maintenance to bury the new synthetic turf in snow. Not to fear, January is usually the start of something cold, dome and warm weather clubs will feel welcomed if they have to visit - though it looks now like Denver is the most likely Wildcard round opponent and they have been getting socked by snowfall which would negate your secret weapon's value anyway. The Pats will just have to win without the snowbanks. Remember to shiver, once just for us!

I'm not sure if the fact they lost IN miami had to do with the cold. Maybe the beards were keeping them too warm, hence they shaved them.

I think weather is a myth until the playoffs when it really gets cold and potentially snow.

It's all myth.

And the perception the team has done poorly?

they're 11-4, gimme a break

At home Biggie, Singapore was discussing the home record which did take a hit this season...

My mistake, but even so. Two of the losses were earlier in the season when they played Denver and Indy. Very rarely do we get snow the first half of the month in November. And the cold is rarely extreme.

The Jets came COULD be in the argument becuase it wasn't cold where the field might have been frozen. But they also couldn't handle the blitz very well.

That has been a major problem going back to last yr's denver game.

I agree that the weather was the least likely factor to change the three losses, three teams who are in or locks for the Playoffs caught the team with their pants down and paddled'em good. We'll see soon how the learning curve has gone since then.

Ya I agree. I'm happy the way the offense has gone the past two weeks with more wr's, but we also haven't seen them go against a fast front 7. We've seen them go against big stout lines. So the jury is still out.

But you have to like how they are working out the kinks with turnovers. They are peaking at the right time.

But at the beginning of the season wih the departures people were predicting 14-2, but with all the losses and the team being a work in progress I think 12-4(asuming they win vs Ten) is very good.

I see them only getting stronger next year.

Today is December 29, marking the longest EVER Worcester has gone without a 1/2" of snow.

Unless something miraculous happens in the next two days, this will be the warmest December in Boston history.
