So if the JESTS plan to put Revis on Welker for 80-90% of the game is that not a waste of a gr8 DB??? We have many more weapons and I realize Revis did do pretty well overall minus the 73yard pass and run TFB to Wes... what will the JESTS do next time? Any thoughts? the what 11 DB's they had active kept TFB really busy in looking for targets down-field. Our MAMMOTH O-Line w/o SEABASS to SWING tackle w/ my Solder boy... don't you see the TE options w/ Vollmer and Solder on the line acting as a TE add the GR8 GRONK into the mix. We really can eff w/ Rex's mind the next time we meet. It would be a total Mind Phuck if we used 1 of Solder or Vollmer as a TE. We could have 4 TE's on the field (overkill), but can you imagine the type of blocking they could provide for our RB's and 2 vertical WR's running streaks. OH MY GOODNESS:eek:

who will they cover more? Revis Island (5 catches 124 yds) clearly Revis Island has been

Revis doesn't look impressive vs. Wes.

what do ya'll think?

will Rex continue to carry his Army National Gaurd Reserve Forces of DB's over improving his FAULTY D-Line and unimptressive O-Line.

Rex didn't want TFB to beat him yet the guy put up 300 plus yds despite a very close Run to Pass ratio. Rex got BURNED and I don't see how thir DL can improve vs. the run. They r missing some schmuck (so aren't we)
In closing Sanchez would be a JAG QB if he were w/ a smaller organization:cool:

I think Revis didn't play on Welker for the entire game.

I thought Revis would have been better off covering Aaron Hernandez.
Wes still had a decent game against Revis but I think AH is the kind of receiver DR is meant for...except that AH is a TE and that would probably be difficult for DR to track and might find his man staying into block at times.
There is no easy solution for the Jets against our guys.
And I'm very happy about that.:D

I think Revis didn't play on Welker for the entire game.

Revis lined up against Welker on roughly half of the Patriots snaps. For the most part, Revis was up to the challenge, but he and safety Eric Smith blew a coverage that allowed Welker to streak up the seam on the first play of the second half.

I realize he did not line up all game w/ him

any way you spin it... 124 yards is quite a lot versus the "BEST" CB in the NFL who only covered welker for "roughly" 1/2 the Game.

We only targeted Welker on 4 plays that Revis was covering him. Leading to only two catches, with one being the long one.

Hardly colonization. Welker is unstoppable no matter who is covering him, just wanted to point out that he didn't exactly "colonize" Revis Island.

True, Welker isn't used in the Patriots offense in a specific spot, nor the Jets use Revis on only one side of the field (like the Raiders did with Asomugha). There you have why Welker had 50% catch rate when he was one-on-one with Revis.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he colonized Revis Island. Maybe he built an airport and named it Welker International. But that's it.

Many have suffered due to colonization.

It's sad.

Colon-ization????

I don't like the sound of that...nope...not one bit

I thought Revis played fairly well on Welker. But who cares? The Jets have more problems on defense dealing with the Patriots than Welker. Remember they didn't see a healthy Hernandez (still recovering from MCL sprain) or Gronkowski (stomach flu and upchucking on the sidelines) in this game. They just don't have the run defense to cover all of the Patriots' receivers and stop the running game with only 6 or less in the box.

I expect that the Pats offense to be even more effective in a month when they meet again assuming the receivers are healthy. Let Revis take Welker most of the time. Cromartie struggled with a far less than 100% Hernandez. Don't forget that if Hernandez didn't drop that ball in the end zone, he burnt Cromartie pretty badly for a TD. Wilson won't be able to cover a 100% Gronkowski either.

Welker was shut down last playoffs by Revis. ^^^

Welker is an unstoppable FORCE therefore him establishing a colony on "Revis Island" is quite the achievement since I suppose Revis is the best(the ppl say)??? :rocker:

PJ, colonization is not a harsh word... I don't even know when you joke or not.

Revis can have his "Island" he just needs to know Wes can do any goddamn thing he wants on it b/c there is no one on that island capable of stopping him.:)

The Colony is but GROWING in size MIDGETARMY:)

watch them ineffectively attempt to prevent plays on a MORE HEALTHY Wes Welker another yr. removed from ACL/MCL (surgery)

The COLONY is GROWING watch:)

The CAN'T stop him!!!

COLON:COLON:COLON:COLON

Revis *may* be the best CB, but he sure does get away with a lot of contact past 5 yards.

Welker is the best slot receiver in the league.

Welker from last year was not the real Welker.

If I could photoshop a pic of 83 pilaging Revis Island as a Patriot to the tune of 5 for 124...I would.

Welker surely did some damage to Revis island. After that 72 yd gain, I'm surprised Revis didn't fake another injury - like he did after that Moss TD last year.

I believe Welker could sink the island, if Brady looked his way more often, while he's being covered by Revis. Sometimes, it seems Brady refuses to even bother with Revis. Sorta like Manning did in the playoffs last year, Wayne seemed to have been open a lot but Manning refused to even throw the ball or even look in that direction.

I think the QBs are the ones stuck on Revis island and not the WRs.

this I know.

and that is exactly why he is in the process creating a HUGE Civilization on Revis Island. Revis you have met your maker, pardon the cliche. Welker's quest of Manifest Destiny is happening and Revis Island will be a a Patriot Haven Soon Enough. Wes will be a CAREER PATRIOT bling bling bling.
