Anyone heard anything about him lately? I believe it's after game 6 that a decision must be made on any PUP'ers, which I think is what he is listed as.

I believe Reiss made mention of seeing him in the locker room or halls and that it would be indication of his being around trying to learn what he can for the potential moment when he can be activated.

At the end of Week 6, the Patriots have 3 weeks to decide whether or not they would allow him to practice. Once he starts practicing, the Patriots have 3 weeks to either put him on the active 53 or IR him. At any point in the cycle, the Patriots can IR Cannon.

Yes, he's on PUP. We and the media have no info whatsoever.

Patsfans has a poster Jack Bauer who shall we say has his ways of extracting fingernails, I mean information, from the tight lipped. We'll see if a Croatian Warlord can be made to talk. I have my doubts.

Exactly right. (Although do you know if the bye week affects things?)

The Patriots must make a decision on Cannon, Brace or Deaderick (active roster/IR/cut) at some point between week 7 and 12 but they've got a lot of flexibility about when they must do so.

I wonder if Cannon can play center? Certainly he has had enough advance notice (Koppen got hurt in what week one?) that it is a need. I think that Connelly has done a very good job at center, but Cannon could be an upgrade.

Of course, asking a rookie to play center might be a little too much to ask (center has to make line calls for blocking assignments). I think that Waters has more than held up at guard, and if nothing else, having antoher guard would be nice.

If you use Lester as a comparision, he was OK when he first came back, but the difference a year later was night and day.

What is more interesting is that Brace/Deaderick came come off the PUP list on October 17th and the trade deadline is Oct. 18th. Plenty of teams could use a defensive tackle......

A 350 pound center would be pretty unorthodox, to say the least. Connolly's done very well at center (this coming from a guy who wasnt a huge fan of him at guard last year), but with his moving there, backup guard is now a major issue. If Mankins or Waters gets hurt, we could be in trouble. If Cannon plugs that gap, then I'll be more than satisfied with that.

ahah yeah and one of those teams is the patriots as mike wright and pryors health has hurt our plans some what.

I have very high hopes for Cannon as a guard. Hopefully he can be our #1 LG/RG replacement and eventually take over from waters when he goes (in saying that his play has been great so far and i'd love to keep him on board)

Cannon can sit and learn. Waters has been the signing of the season for the Patriots.

Would hate to think where we'd be without Waters. I think his contributions has not been bragged enough.

Who r our Backup T's and OG's???

Cannon most definitely could play a Swing G or a potential swing T.

I liked Connolly ever since Mankins held out. Connolly is showing me how we do NOT need Koppen any longer. Dan is on pace for being our next starting C for yrs. to come. Stay Healthy and keep playing well my friend.:rocker:

Whoever isn't starting between Vollmer and Solder is the backup T- I'm hoping/assuming that Welch being cut means that Vollmer's back. Connolly was the primary backup at all 3 interior positions, but now that he's been pressed into starting duty, it looks like Ryan Wendell's the next guy in line. If/when Cannon comes back this year, that's whose spot he'll be trying to take.

Seriously, not enough has been made of the fact that the Pats' line has been missing two starters (three from last year) pretty much the entire season. Connolly and Solder have been playing so well that nobody's really noticed.

Think Wendell will stick around, only backup center. Canon becomes backup quard & tackle & with Vollmer's back, will come in handy.

I agree that Waters signing was fantastic and at NFL DRAFT BIBLE.com. they rank all the players by position, at quard, Mankins # 2 & Waters #6.

Anyone think they activate Faulk & IR Vereen?

If Brace & Deadrick come back, who do we release?

You'll get more info from Rasputin, than our beloved Croatian:rocker:

Indeed, Connolly, Waters and Solder have all have had fantastic seasons to date. If Connolly holds up well against the bigger NT's (Halata etc) I think it's his job next year

Just curious, how much would you be willing to pay Connolly, as a 30-year-old free agent?
