Congrats on the win. I was still proud of the way the Jets played.

All the pre-game noise about descension in locker room, their offensive struggles, etc etc...

The way I see it...

Jets said they were going to run the ball, and they did, and that was critical in trying to control TOP and keep Brady and the offense off the field.

The numbers might not dictate it, but Jets played pretty well on D, and keeping Patriots in check, and keeping the game within reach for most of the game.

It was a game at half time, and everybody here knows it. The opening second-half drive was a killer for the Jets, a mistake by Smith in zone protection, and a hell of an effort by Revis to make a play to try and save the drive.

That pass to Branch, that was a BS call, I know you'll agree, Branch was switching hands, when contact was made, Branch didn't even have possession of the ball, that call should have never been overturned.

The officiating once again bounced the way of the Pats, it's tiring to see the officials bail the Patriots out, and they did on several drives, while killing the Jets on a couple of their own drives.

Pats made some critical in game adjustments against Jets defensive packages that were designed to play the pass, additional DB's on the field, and less up front on the LOS, Pats made the adjustment and ran the ball. As I said earlier, the Pats set up the run off of their passing game, the Jets had to respect the passing game, credit to the Pats for running it and executing. Some would say they gashed the Jets run D, no, not true, because Jets didn't have their run D in many of those situations, they had their pass defensive packages on the field.

The Jets came to play, their running game showed up, and the offense showed some signs after a poor week last week. Mangold returning was huge, and immediately played dividends in the running game, and in pass protection.

The defense needed to make a play on that final drive, and they fell short, credit to the Pats.

It was a battle, round 1 goes to the Pats.

It's a long season, it's about who is playing the best at the end of the season.

Could you explain the fumble rule and cite sources? Then I'll acknowledge the officiating bias.

Jets didn't lose cuz of the calls, they lost because they got beat.

If this was a real congrats thread I'd keep it on the Main forum. But this is a backhanded way of telling us that the Patriots are lucky and the ref's are on our side.

how was the branch call bs? his knee was down when he was touched. doesnt matter what he was doing with the ball. you should do your crying in private.

You guys got an INT gift right before halftime.

It was a close game, but that's to be expected from these two teams. Your team has issues going forward. Your defense isn't what it used to be and Sanchez has regressed. A playoff birth isn't a sure thing for you guys at the moment.

I was surprised the refs even called it a fumble on the field. Was a little close after replay but pretty easy call.

A good start of a thread title followed by the whining and *****ing and excuse making typical of a team and it's fan base that is all talk.

You got lucky that Hernandez dropped an easy TD at the end of the half, that's why it was a game at the half. And Revis gets away with holding constantly so please save the refs crap.

The Jets ran well on a couple of drives but their run D is a joke. Basically an average team with no depth that should be 1-4 but for the grace of Romo.

You're full of it on the officials argument, and you know it. Without the punt return, the Jets lose by 17.

Quit whining and hope for better luck in New York.

Quite cowardly to pull the ref card. Jets got away with a clear bump on Welker in the end zone on one play. Revis held quite a bit, could have been called a # of times was called once.

Branch's knee was clearly on the ground, you have no argument there.

Other than that spot on post. The Jets put up a good fight better than I thought they would. The run game looked good they should continue pounding Greene, Sanchez is alot more effective in that offense.

The ceiling just wasn't high enough for the Jets today. Hope the loss stings while your being proud.

Jets played to their absolute maximum today. Good on them.

Thanks for the Congrats. As a Pats fan, this game was a tremendous win. But for the dropped TD catch turned INT by Hernandez, the game is a run away.

Best parts of the game for me:

1. Dominating Patriots offensive line against the vaunted Jets defense. Brady had alot of time to throw, and the holes for the running game were impressive too. 136 yards rushing for Law Firm.

2. Nice to see our two main WRs combine for 12 catches, 200 yards and a TD. Throw in another 9 catches by our TEs. They were not intimidated by the Jets DBs.

3. To see such a great performance without the likes of Volmer, Woodhead, Edelman, Mayo, and others was very satisfying.

4. The defense is still figuring it out, but 7, three and outs, was a great start.

The reverse on the Branch play was an absolute no brainer. You didn't mention some of the non-calls against your DBs holding Pats receivers. Yes, even Revis was guilty. Check the replay of the game.

And Branch clearly got touched before he started switching hands. The second a pinky gets laid on him while his knee is down, he is down by contact. He got contacted and was still trying to get up when the fumble occurred.

But I don't expect a whiner to actually know the rules.

Pathetic

I commented on the one call and some others I thought the Pats got the benefit of

I also gave the Pats credit with their in game adjustments on offense against a Jets D, with personnel packages that were looking to stop the pass

Not sure why you wouldn't think the congrats was real, just doing my part to show up after the game.

If you need to move it off the main board, not exactly sure what you're trying to achieve, but it's pretty shallow.

No, your backhanded compliment is "pathetic." It's quite clear that Branch is touched before he starts switching hands. It's a complete losers mentality to even bring up the refs when your team got dominated as badly as they did. If not for Hernandez blowing a sure TD you guys get slaughtered. The refs had nothing to do with the outcome of the game and even bringing it up is whining and excuse making and nullifies the rest of your post no matter how complimentary you think it is.

As is the constant backhanded compliments about the Jets being lucky getting in the playoffs the last couple of years, the same crying was done about Revis today.

Really, you want to go there?

Sorry, I commented on how I saw it, it wasn't like I didn't give the Pats any credit.

I guess Pats fans really do need to have smoke blown up their ass all day and anybody that dares to question, or not throw rose petals at them is questioned, moved off the main forum, or banned for no reason at all...

I said congrats, Pats got round 1, Jets certainly didn't do enough to win today, but they showed signs of being the team they can and should be when people were questioning them all week.

Jets said they were going to run the ball, and they did, and that was critical in trying to control TOP and keep Brady and the offense off the field.

25/97 and a 3.9 average did help them slow the game down but really for the Jets to win they need a better YPC.

They gave up 455 yards of offense and 30 points. If Hernandez holds that ball at the end of the half it would have been 37 points. The Jets did nothing to force that turnover.

That pass to Branch, that was a BS call, I know you'll agree, Branch was switching hands, when contact was made, Branch didn't even have possession of the ball, that call should have never been overturned.

If you play it back and freeze it the ball is secured and the Jets defender touch Branch. Only after that does he switch hands. It was the correct call.

The officiating once again bounced the way of the Pats, it's tiring to see the officials bail the Patriots out, and they did on several drives, while killing the Jets on a couple of their own drives.

Losers lament. Just as many calls went against the Pats.

Pats made some critical in game adjustments against Jets defensive packages that were designed to play the pass, additional DB's on the field, and less up front on the LOS, Pats made the adjustment and ran the ball. Some would say they gashed the Jets run D, no, not true, because Jets didn't have their run D in many of those situations, they had their pass defensive packages on the field.

Actually this part concerns me about the game coming up in NY in a few weeks. It will be much harder communications wise to audible and get different groupings in quickly. Very concerned about that game.

The Jets came to play, their running game showed up, and the offense showed some signs after a poor week last week. Mangold returning was huge, and immediately played dividends in the running game, and in pass protection.

Mangold was huge. Best center in the league. The run game was OK. As I said they need more than 3.9 per carry. They were disciplined and stuck to it so credit there. Plexiglass had alligator arms and his two drops and foot out of bounds affected the game for the Jets.

The defense needed to make a play on that final drive, and they fell short, credit to the Pats.

It was a battle, round 1 goes to the Pats.

Agreed it's just one game. I think even Rex has learned to stop making it into an early season Super Bowl. Phony good luck. :D

good so you agree the branch call was correct? because it was.
