Baltimore.

I have seen a couple other threads (3 vs 4 seed & various game vs TEN threads where folks seem to make a lot of assumptions that our placement in 3 versus 4 seed will determine whether we go to SD or Baltimore.

IMO it is almost a lock that we go to Baltimore IF we win the WC round regardless of whether we face "J - E - T - S blow, blow, blow" or the donkeys or some other team to be named later. Regardless if we come up 3 versus 4; I personally DON'T see Indy surviving the WC round.

They have seen their run defense problem for 6 weeks now. Have they been able to fix it? At this point either they are practicing the greatest deception plan since D-Day or they are incapable of fixing it.

Can anyone honestly say that another playoff capable AFC team can't and wont take advantage of that on Indy. While they are good and still could pull it off; I just dont see marvelous marvin and paymeaton compensating enough for that deficiency.

So regardless of what happens with the 3 versus 4 seed; SD as the top seed will be playing the WC round team that beats INDY; and Pats will have to go to Baltimore. (Unless of course as the 3 seed Pats lose to the 6 seed. But then I wouldn't really give a **** anyway what happens. )

And anyway this is all 2 weeks away; so Pats need to take care of business against Tenn and come away healthy and ready for whoever comes our way.

Are you sure the Jets will take Indy?? I REALLY doubt that they will especially in the dome...they have a shot, but they hardly have a running game that can do it...They might be one of the few teams that will have a hard time..If Cinci or Jax or??? I think Indy may be done quicker...soIndy will have Baltimore and will face a tough D...and Patriots will get San Diego which will be good...a time to get Rivers early and a team that hasn't played a PO game...

...goes through their own heads.

If the team that beat Da Bears, Jags, Texans, Bengals and Vikings shows up, then book those tickets to Miami. If the team that lost to the Jets and Dolphins shows up, then it's going to be a long cold January.

Indy will beat the Jets. As bad as Indy's played lately, i can't see them losing to the "Flash in the Pans". I think we'll beat Denver in a ballbuster, head to SD where we'll beat them. I think the Pats will, as you say, head to Baltimore for the AFCCG.

Gee, Jacky, I guess your assessment has changed dramatically since week 10.

Time to think ahead to 2007 A thread started by Jacky on 11-12-06

Some snipets of Jacky's assessment at that time include:

Jacky Roberts said:
"Now that this season is for all practical purposes over, Belichick and Pioli have some serious decisions t make. Do they sign Graham? Do they make a big play for a WR? They still make make the playoffs, but they are one and done in the playoffs if they can win the division.

Two draft picks, Seattle's in mid 20s and Pats in late teens, early 20's, should help fix the glaring holes in this team for the future. They've got to get some defense, especially DBs and LBs in this draft. The good news is the draft looks deep at both positions.

Since this team won't be in Miami in February, maybe it woudn't be the worst thing in the world for this team to miss the playoffs, hope for a Seattle collapse, and get two rather strong picks. I guess we'll have to see what happens...

As mindnumbingly upset and disappointed as I am about this game, I'm more upset at the fact that this team mailed in an effort after the Indy loss. It tells me this team is mentally weak and has no chance at a Super Bowl. You would have to have serious brain damage to still think this team has a shot at a championship. This team's window has closed and its time to think about the future...

Sorry, I disagree with you. The only team that is marginally strong that this team has beaten is Cincy. Every other good team they've lost to (at home, too). This season is toast...

I guess it depends on your goals for the season. If your season was to win the division, no, the season is not over. If you are looking at the big picture and thought Super Bowl, forget it. This team cannot win a Super Bowl this year. For me, this puts the season as a complete failure. Seeing no chance at a Bowl now, I am unfortunately going to call this season over and a disaster. I guess I expected too much out of this team...

Sadly, I was right back in March. This team has lost too much and is going down the tubes and Brady has been exposed quite a bit. Hey, it couldn't last forever and it was fun while it lasted...

Say what you will, but this team sucks and is an embarrassment. I was right in March and Im afraid I'm right (as usual) here in November. This team is colder than Caesar and this season is pretty much all over but the crying. The good ole days were fantastic, at least we have them. I have a feeling I'll be watching a lot of old Pats DVDs this week wondering where the good times went."

(As usual) I'm glad I'm never that right....and that my brain damage is still mindnumbingly clear.

It actually has. I thought this team was soft, but that win in Jacksonville proved otherwise. After that Jets loss, one that showed them sleepwalk through a bad loss, it seemed like they were dead.

Interesting theory.I think this team can beat any other,San Diego and Denver would be toughest IMO,the bolts have LT and Gates, the Broncos seem to have our number for some reason....but to be the best you have to take on all comers.....

The Jets can beat Indy in Indy, they do have the horses for that between Houston, Washington, and Barlow. If I was Dungy, I'd mail it in against Miami and try for 4th seed and Denver.

Yeah, can we get Indy to conspire with the Pats to swap seeds?

"We'll trade you your whipping boys for that 3rd seed and we'll take that pesky Jets running game off your hands while we're at it. You don't really wanna face that Baltimore defense, do you? San Diego is much warmer, almost like playing in a dome. Pay no attention to that Thomlinson behind the curtain." :p :D

Since the Jets don't rely as much on the running game as they do passing I think they lose BIG in the playoffs to Indy - I think Peyton has a big day sunday and blows Miami out by 20 and faces the Jets so expect New England to face Denver 1st (Gulp!) and if they get by then San Diego looms next - 2 AFC West opponents in a row - none of which are Oakland...Thats is one helluva task!
