I imagine this is how you could game plan to beat the Pats:
Bring safeties close to LOS
Take away the short game (run/Pass) as that's Brady's bread and butter
Change up looks on every play, blitz at odd times to confuse
Jam the hell out of any deep threat

This of course requires excellent DBs that can go one on one, which the Jets have had.

The way to beat it, of course is to give Brady time and win the match up of whomever the LB is covering. With 2nd year Gronk and AH I imagine we win that match up hands down.

They like to flood the middle of the field and make Brady throw outside the numbers.

Last year they were able to blanket welker and branch. Gronk didn't have a very good game and neither did crumpler. Hernandez was limited to a few snaps because of the hip injury he had. Now we have a healthy Hernandez and Ocho, which will make it more difficult for them to cover.

We can't be so sure about that.

supposedly Hernandez was ready to play last week but they held him out for an extra week.

Hernandez should change the complexion of this game for our offense, along with a better O line to give Brady more time to throw the ball.

Obviously Ellis was helpful this week with tendencies/etc from his former team.

If they go to 5 DB set, just run Ridley. This was our biggest mistake or we couldn't run the ball when they had sub packages.

Run the ball = win.

agree 100%. It won't be a 50/50 mix, but we have to at least get to 65/35 or 60/40. We need to run early and often. We have the horses to do it now. Once the running game is going (or at least we've got them respecting it) then the passing game will work - especially to Gronk / AH.

That said - the weak link of their secondary will likely be on Ocho. This is 85's chance to rise to the occasion.

The Patriots could run the ball, they simply chose not too. It's one of the reasons I've held the position that our run game should be utilized more often. Balance on offense.

The video from practice this week was encouraging, he was going up for balls without hesitation.

I sure hope Hernandez is ready to play. It would make such a difference being able to run legitimate 2 TE sets and being able to both pass/run with equal effectiveness. I'm sure it's precautionary, however it made me a little nervous seeing him with the brace.
