SMY: Friday Practice: Hernandez, Haynesworth and Wright All in Again

That's just for the mediot portion of practice which is stretching. We'll know more when the actual practice report is released late today. Bill has had a tendancy to limit his active players to those who practiced to some extent at some point during the week. But I think that policy has been softened somewhat in recent years when managing crucial components with strain and sprain or bump and bruised type of injuries where the 48 hours between Friday and Sunday afternoon can make a world of difference. We also don't know HOW the kid RB's are performing in the practices they are fully participating in...which likely factors into the equation when it comes to possible game time decisions...

Jets are goin down mang

Great news. Wright and Haynesworth are HUGE (no pun intended) additions to this DL. They instantly become two or our top three (with Wilfork) options for interior pass rush. That will free things up for Carter and Ellis, who you know wants to make an impact against this Jets team.

Can't wait for Sunday!

No Endleperson, I doubt that BB is going to put Welker back to return punts, so that leaves.......

Vareen? Can he do it? He returned KO in College, maybe a few punts. It would be interesting to see him out there.

Haynesworth and Wright would be huge additions, Hernandez (at 100%) would be a match-up nightmare for the now Thomas-less Jets....

It leaves Taylor Price.

I heard on the radio today that Hernandez wanted to play last week, but the Pats held him back. So there is a chance he could be around 100% this week.

This is the type of news I like to read before heading off to a long night of work!

Getting Haynesworth and Wright back on the field for the NFL's last ranked defense, is a huge boost.

Our defense is absolutely horrible. I am hoping that it is because we are not disguising any coverages and that BB will start to ramp that up closer to the playoffs as the guys get more reps.

If this is not the case, then BB needs to wear a paperbag his head on the sidelines for the rest of the year that says "Applications for DC now being accepted"!

dont forget we also get back bodden and dowling to shore up our cornerbacks..

not really concerned with no Edelman...slater can handle kick returns..it just means that ochocinco(who looked good last week) will take his snaps in the 3 wr sets...and maybe well finally get to see Taylor Price.

woodhead's the only one i hope can play...but that just means more ridley and maybe even vereen?

im sensing the pats want to make a statement with this game.

Statements in October mean nothing.

What did the mid December 45-3 statement before the largest Monday Night Football national audience mean last year?

Get the win, stay in the lead in the division and stay in as good a shape as possible for the playoffs.

sure, but if we win this game, that means we are 4-1 and the Jets are 2-3....3games back which could be hard for them to overcome and essentially be big in us winning the division...as I think the Bills will fizzle out.

so, imo its an important game for us to win against a division rival and essentially crush them and put them in a hole

TWO games back.

With 11 games to go and us in their house the next time.

It's a long season.

Not against the run.

Precisely. Definently an important W for us to get, but it's no statement. Statement are made in January.

Its kind of funny that we play against 2 QBs in the next 2 weeks that have a lot to prove to thier teams that they can take thier team to the Super Bowl

...this week its Sanchez and next week its Romo.

I think both QBs have been a dissapointment to thier organization and fans

To be fair last years Jets would be 4-0 or 3-1 right now. This isn't the same team on the ground or defensively, their QB has regressed, I still would be shocked if they make the playoffs let alone knock us out again.

Mayo, 3 others doubtful for Pats
Did Not Practice
OT Sebastian Vollmer (back) Doubtful
LB Jerod Mayo (knee) Doubtful
WR Julian Edelman (ankle) Doubtful
RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) Doubtful

Limited Participation
TE Aaron Hernandez (knee) Questionable
DL Mike Wright (concussion) Questionable
CB Ras-I Dowling (hip) Questionable
DL Albert Haynesworth (back) Questionable
CB Leigh Bodden (groin) Questionable
S Josh Barrett (thumb/hamstring) Questionable
DL Kyle Love (ankle) Questionable

Full Participation
LB Dane Fletcher (thumb) Probable
S Patrick Chung (hand) Probable
DL Shaun Ellis (knee) Probable

If "questionable" means 50:50, then at least a couple of those guys are not going to play.

I want our defense to play better.
KILL SANCHEZ. HIT HIM. HIM HARD. HIT HIM HARDER and DESTROY HIS CONFIDENCE.

We have to physically DOMINATE the bogus f*cktards.
