Welker sidestepped the invitation for controversy, issuing a stream of classic, engineered Pats-speak.
"Good luck on Sunday! Looking forward to it. It's going to be a great matchup," Welker deadpanned, before asking Eisen: "I mean, can you have set it up any more for me there?"
Welker continued. "I ain't gonna bite, Rich. I ain't biting."
Controversy averted. Right?

looks like Welker doesnot want to be benched for the first posession of the game this Sunday ;)

He's toeing the company line; being the foot soldier that he is.

Yep, he put his best foot forward there

Welker escaped from "foot in mouth" disease.

Interesting that he wouldn't even dip his toe in the water.

Foot sex...

He doesn't want to put his foot in his mouth, like he did last year, and end up cooling his toes on the sideline during the first quarter.

It is called NOT being a WISEASS and learning from 1's past mistakes. This is an excellent example of RESPECT and HONOR as he puts the TEAM and his COACH ahead of his own EGO.

Many NFL players just be stupid and give into the smack talk. Welker is SMART and he most certainly has a brain and a keen mind to recognize past experiences and there repercussions.:)

I still think that press conference stuff from Wes last January was classic humor. I didn't like the consequences and the accompanying result (although, I don't think for a second that's why we lost that game), but, man, that was clever.

Yes, he certainly tip-toed around that line of questioning. Give Wes a foot, and, well... At least he didn't put his foot in his mouth here. After last year's kick in the pants, Welker seems to be walking on egg-shells.

Sorry.

I LAUGHED my ASS off as Well. HOWEVER Welker provided LockerRoom Material for the JESTS. That is why BB did what he did.

I LOVED what WW did. A CLASSIC, but he fed the fire and we got BURNT:(

Wes did the smart thing. Thats the Patriot Way. Good for him.

this BTW, for me, is one of BB's greatest mistakes, EVER, in any fashion

Its nice to see Wes all heeled up and ready to go this Sunday.

I don't know. I think this could backfire on Welker just like the "foot" comments did last year.

You watch, Rex Ryan will break down at a press conference on Thursday and reveal his previously undisclosed dental fetish. He'll say that Welker's "I ain't gonna bite, Rich. I ain't biting" comments hit too close to home for he and his wife.

LOL first two replies in this thread already took away what I was going to say, classic! :D

Good for Wes, could gotten his feet all tangled and tripped up there, but he did a quickstep and danced right past.
