Coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday that Harrison will undergo surgery Wednesday on a fractured right orbital eye socket. Tomlin said Harrison would be out a “number” of weeks.

Harrison explained on Twitter: “My forehead pad in my helmet came down and hit me in the eye when I made contact with the tackle.”

The Ravens are probably feeling really good about the division.

Not just that. Take a look at their schedule for the next couple months.

Very winable.

Missing four week will suffice.

Gee, that's a real shame. Not a great shock considering his current age (>33). Considering that he was an undrafted free agent, you have to admire what he has done in the NFL.

Not looking good for the Steelers. It's difficult to see if they even make the playoffs.

Not looking good for the Steelers or Harrison who already was working his way back from multiple back surgeries this offseason, he simply hasn't been as effective this season.

They are D-O-N-E.

They look like crap against Houston and barely escaped the pathetic Colts.

It's going to be a rough few years while they turn that team over.

With all this wringing of hands over our 'lousy D", people forget that no franchise has been as consistently a contender this century as the Patriots.

Probably because that's not true. The most consistent contender this century has been the Colts.

Nothing is a given in the nfl. That steelers game at pittsburg wont be easy.I am sure they remember the game last year.

Really?

The 0-4, Andrew Luck Sweepstakes Colts?

Tell me what year were the Pats in the running for the #1 draft pick (with their OWN pick, that is).

The Patriots are set up to be contenders this year and for several years ahead - -whether or not Brady gets hurt. The Patriots are an ORGANIZATION.

It's not even Columbus Day and the Colt's year year is over. They are falling off a cliff.

I'd say they're equal though obviously the Pats have had more post-season success this century.. Assuming that the Colts don't make the playoffs this year, each will have missed the playoffs twice this century(assuming 2001 as start of century). Now if you consider the century to have begun with 2000
Pats record since 2000 129-51 14-5 in playoffs
Colts record since 2000 125-55 9-9 in playoffs
----------
If you consider the century to have begun with 2001
Pats record since 2001 124-40
Colts record since 2001 115-49

They are both pretty consistent with ten win seasons, etc.....
No year '0' so first century was years 1-100, second was 101-200 etc so 21st began on 2001...

Now your moving the goalposts. Let's look back at your initial quote:

Prior to this season, the Colts had been in the playoffs every year but 1 since 1999, had won 10 games or more in 11 of the past 12 seasons (Yes, even predating this century), and had won 12 games or more in 7 of the last 8 seasons.

The Patriots, as good as they've been, have been less consistent, and have missed the playoffs more often during that stretch of time.

Whoaaaaa!!!!!

Now you throw in "Prior to this season"?????????? And "Yes, even predating this century"????

WHO is moving the goalposts??????

This season is occurring during this century, last time I checked.

Regarding the two times the Pats missed the playoffs - - they were 9-7 and 11-5. The one time the Colts missed it they were 6-10. This year will obviously be a bit worse than that.

And no. At NO time this century have the Pats EVER been out of contention before Columbus Day.

1.) This season isn't over, so it's not usable in the analysis.

2.) "even predating this century" was just noting how long the Colts have sustained their high level of play.

Neither of those is moving the goalposts.

And your assertion about the Patriots being the most consistent was wrong, which is why you tried moving those goalposts. There's no shame in admitting that they're only the second most consistent team during that time. I'll take 3 SBs and fewer playoff appearances over 1-2 more playoff appearances (depending upon where you want to start your century) but just the one SB.

A winning record every year. The two missed playoffs, 9-7 and 11-5.

vs.

a 6-10 year AND this year which will be worse.

Meanwhile "predating this century" in your mind equals 'this century'. Nice.

Since when do you make the rules about this year not being part of this century?

I must have missed the memo that we're 4 games in to a 16 game season. Writing a team off with 12 games remaining is not a smart idea.

They dead, bro.

I'm sorry that you've lost your ability to read with comprehension as well as your ability to admit when you're as obviously wrong as you are here.

I hope you are soon able to overcome whatever injury or illness has caused such losses.

The World According to Deus Irae:

1) "Predating this century" = This century

2) 2011 = Not part of this century

3) Anyone who doesn't understand this must be considered ill
