Butch Stearns mentioned earlier on WEEI that he has heard rumblings out of Gillette in re: to Jackson, but he does not want to mention or is not 100% sure of what he is hearing.

Are there any insiders out there that can further elaborate? My guess is that it is a maturity issue / transition to the NFL thing.

No, really, we're talking about this again? I understand you might have missed it, but this topic has been absolutely beaten to death around here.

The CJ battlers will surely come out and drown the thread in opinions, but my take is still:

He's a rookie. At a position that rookies don't really do well at in the NFL. On a team which asks alot of WRs. And he's been injured. Three times. With two different injuries. He's young, he still has time to 'figure it out'. Having a full TC under his belt next season will show us more of what he's about than this season without a TC and full of injuries.

That is all.

:D

Lol, he just asked about a specific rumor he heard, you're the one beating it to death by giving a whole winded argument on why you support CJ.

Who is Chad Jackson?

This is the biggest non post ever. Rumblings on the radio that the guy doesn't want to mention. OK - so what is there to talk about ?

He's had meager contributions. That's the scoop. Personally, i'm pissed that we didn't get greg jennings or marques colston. Imagine if we had both

Belichickfan, how is this a non-post?

Obviously, Stearns has heard something, but he chooses not to elaborate. I am looking for someone to elaborate specifically.

Maybe it is nothing, but Stearns has obviously heard something. Plus, we all know how tight-lipped the team is.

Therefore, I am hoping to hear specifics, not the usual Jackson mumbo-jumbo.

You're right, I'm just tired of rumors with nothing behind them and it sounds like this is the case with Stearns. He should produce the goods or keep quiet. Jackson has been active (on the active roster, anyway) the past two weeks so I'm assuming things are at least OK for him right now.

I guess the obvious thing to say is that if Stearns isn't ready to supply detail, then he should keep his trap shut, otherwise he sounds like some taunting kid on the schoolyard. Or did he want someone to say, "just whisper it in my ear?"

I heard that Chad has finally come to grips with the fact that he is woman trapped in a man's body. The operation has been tentatively scheduled for February 17th at 11:00 a.m. in Mass General. Since Chad and his lawyers are claiming that he has no intention of retiring, NE is doing their due diligence to see if what options they have.

Nothing has been finalized yet, but I have this from a good source.

Now people interested in "mindless and pointless speculation" could happily reside here.

Maybe it's time for Jackson to have a good game againts the Titans. Then he will become the flavor of the week here on this board. All of the "he's a bust" "he's stupid and can't learn the playbook" or "he's so immature" post will become "a shining star", "a future all pro" or "what a smart draft choice" post will start.

But I did hear from a guy,who has a friend, who has a 2nd cousin, who knows someone who cleaned the Patriots locker room, that Jackson has underachieved this year just to piss off people who post on message boards. Maybe that's what he guy was talking about.

Whoa! I can't believe you missed the several dozen threads of "shining star", "future all pro", "great draft pick", and my favorite, the "this, no THIS will be Chad's breakout game today" posts that began on draft day in April and ran on and on until the cold hard reality of non-contribution temporarily set in.

Lloyd, perhaps this thread can shed some light on this continuing "anonymous" rumor mongering regarding Chad Jackson:

http://208.109.107.176/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showthread.php?p=219008#post219008

Hopefully, Butch Stearns will assume 4 different poster names (the last being ["his fiancee's first nameLovesBrady"]) to spill the info he can't divulge on his radio show here on this website. All the while, he can also trash competitors like Mike Reiss and tell everyone here that they should "listen to that Butch Stearns guy, he really knows his stuff".

Hell, it worked for Casale.

Hell, it worked for Casale.

....who, by the way, shut the heck up immediately once we called him on it. Those four "posters" haven't been back here since the night he was fingered for it. Now, who do YOU think Butch Stearns' "source within Gillette Stadium" could be regarding the nasty continuing rumors about Chad Jackson? Hmmmmmm........

Seems rumors are all some of our media people have to offer this week.
Could this be construed as Merry Christmas to Belichick for giving them NOTHING???

Curt Schilling was right!!!

Oops. Well, being that the 'new report' brought up nothing but what had already been discussed 15 million times, I guess I got lost on that one.

Also, there was no specific rumor, it was another of those Casale-esque baselessly negative non-rumors that aim to stir fans up over nothing, IMO.

EDIT: Also, I did not 'support CJ', at least in the sense that many have. IE: 'He's a future probowler' etc etc etc. I just simply stated the reasons why his non-contribution should be put into perspective by all of these people (fans and media alike) that are frothing at the mouth to produce dirt on him as to why he's a 'bust'.

This rumour from Stearns isn't just "Casale-esque". It seems to be probably Casale himself. Think about it. Stearns attributes "rumblings out of Gillette", Casale's "four posters" from the same ISP cut and ran immediately after he was fingered for the campaign in October, Casale knows he can't use this website anymore for his CJ campaign. Casale works in the bowels of Gillette.

Sooooooooooo...... New outlet for his CJ "info"????? ..........Butchie Boy! (Who evidently went to the Casale University for Journalistic Ethics - - shouting out there is a bad rumor about CJ "but he can't elaborate").

That makes too much sense not to be the truth. Damn that Casale, he got us again.
