Who is your top 5 ranked AFC teams at 25% into the season?

1 tops to 5 lowest

I'll say

1) Baltimore - Stifling Defense,Powerful rushing attack,Adequate receivers, destroyed thier only competition in the division.

2) Houston - Finally has a secondary that can hold its own,Has a good QB,a perrenial 1,500 yard rusher and a future HOF WR

3) New England - With a defense even in mid pack, this team would be far and away #1 but its all Tom Brady and Co. with the not so great defense just trying to keep opposing teams to score less points than Brady can put up,if the defense somehow improves to mid level then the Pats certainly will be at the top

4) San Diego - Rivers seems to be off to a hot start this year and if SD gets stronger late in the season as they always do,they may be the best team in the Conference - WR Jackson looks unhuman at times with the catches he makes.

5) Raiders

Runner ups - Buffalo and Jets

fixed your post

The Ravens are really the only AFC that concerns me due to their defense.

But I will say that Flacco is terrible, so there's always that. Their OL isn't great, either. And besides Rice, nothing on offense that really scares me.

#1 Houston Texans, Good running game Good pass offense Good defense,

#2 New England Patriots, best QB in NFL history great offense but the defense needs to get a lot better

#3 Tennessee Titans, Good vet QB maybe the best RB in the game and there defense has allowed the fewest points in the NFL

#4 Baltimore Ravens, play makers all over the defense Good RB but a Bad QB

#5 San Diego Chargers, great QB nice running game Good defense.

I cant believe Houston is being given any respect. By default because Manning's done. I dont care what they've done so far thru FOUR games, but they still have Matt Shaub as a QB, and he'll still fold like a tent under at the first sight of pressure.

1) NE
2) BAL
3) HOU
4) BUF
5) SD

Honorable mentions - TEN
Dishonorable mentions - NYJ, IND

How can the Pats be ahead of the Bills? They have the same record and the Bills won the matchup.

Because the game was in Buffalo and the Pats are better.

Because fluke picks and bad reffing doesn't make one team better long-term.

5) New York Jets - A team that has looked horrid should only improve as the season progresses - I still see NY as a threat in the AFC East and a 10 win team

Runner ups - Buffalo and Tennessee - Buffalo may be losing the Cinderella slipper quickly and I don't see Hasselbeck keeping his good QB play for too long.

what in the ****? lol

this is rivers slowest start that i can remember

Possibly Lee Evans if he gets healthy

my top 6 right now is :

pats
ravens
texans
bills
titans
chargers

my reasoning is this:

pats lost to the bills, who look damn good, but despite the pats bad defense, it took 4 brady ints on the road for that to occur

the ravens have lost to only tennessee but tennessee looks surprisingly solid despite CJ sucking so far this year

the texans are so much better so far on defense, i can't believe wade phillips got them that much better that quick, very very impressive Oline /run game as well

the bills choked vs the bengals, no excuse there, but still, they've looked so much better than a normal bills team

the titans are the biggest shocker to me, even more than the bills, they're not running all that well but hasselbeck's actually playing pretty well, and their D looks like it will keep them in most games, i think that week 1 loss to the jags was the team still gelling.

now comes my chargers, while i love the 3-1 record, especially based on how many mistakes we've made in the first 3 weeks, we have to win games like the ones we have vs kc minn and mia, in a more convincing fashion, because those teams suck ass, and we've got to make less mistakes when playing the NEs of the nfl, because we always shoot ourselves in the foot

the list start at number 3 since number 1 and number 2 don't exist, at least in terms of quality

3 - ravens......because they have a defense......and if the pats have to play them in the playoffs, the way it looks is that the pats will get killed again
4 - texans....well balanced although schaub will fall flat on his face in the playoffs
5 - titans.....another well balanced team who can play defense.....hasslebeck is the key here and has gone to the SB before
6/7 - pats/chargers......because there is nobody else

Ravens
Texans
Patriots
Chargers
Titans

Despite a great month from Fitzpatrick, the Bills' 15 minutes for this season is just about up.

At this point, I don't see any really good teams in the AFC. The Ravens look elite on D and the Pats look elite on O but both have major issues on the other side of the ball as of now.

There is still a long way to go.

Jets/Steelers/Raiders

With the Colts and Chiefs reeling, the Jaguars going full ******, the Jets and Steelers both looking extremely vulnerable, and the Raiders having the capability of playing either great or garbage on any given Sunday, I've had to make some minor changes to my preseason thoughts. I don't trust Hasselbeck to stay healthy, and I don't think the Bills are ready for prime time, so I'm looking at 7 teams for the 6 available spots as of now.

That's not exactly what the OP was asking for, but it seems the better way of looking at it right now, IMO.

New England is still the class of the AFC, mostly on Brady's shoulders at this point.

Houston and Titans have 'potential', Ravens have their usual defense and awful QB, San Diego is hot and cold.

Jets have been overrated for a while now, Bills are the new Jets. ;)

im never taken the jets lightly.. the jets are a good team and a bad match up for us... i think this week sanchez and buress connect on alot of deep passes..... with that said

Baltimore
Houston
New england
jets
san diego

Good to see you are consistent.

Going 0-5 on smart observations means you don't suprise anyone.
