achilles injury

they just got soft against the run

Big loss for the Jets, and likely Thomas' last game in white and green.

Definitely a guy I'd like the Patriots to look at in the offseason.

An achilles injury can be devastating to a player. My best wishes for a full and complete recovery.

That definitely hurts their defense.. OH, they were already soft against the run, allowing 130.5 YPG... Losing Thomas will make it even more so..

That's a tough loss and I hate hearing that players got injured..

That sucks! I never wish for major injuries for players. Thomas is a decent player, but was a significant in their run defense.

I know he is a Jest player, but hope he makes a full recovery!

I don't wish injury to any Jets player........almost

But if Bart Scott had an injury and went on IR,I would open a bottle of Champagne...seriously

who is he? name doesnt register

=================================================

From the UAB, Had a great combine in 2002 and was selected #22 overall, played as a DE until Mangini converted him to a 3/4 OLB.

He became a starter early on and Performed reasonably well to good over his career, A good portion of the Jets fan base felt he never lived up to his draft position.
He was steady and avoided serious injury problems till yesterday, kept his nose clean off the field, not much of a voice in the locker room.

Big loss for the Jets.

Add me to the list of guys who hate injuries. The league is worse off without these guys. Best wishes on a full recovery.

Who?

Ten Chars.

He's a good OLB, play opposite Pace. I've thought he was underrated for a while, but a lot of Jets fans were saying that he was overrated and clamoring for Westerman to replace him as far back as last season/this offseason. Westerman didn't impress me at all last night though, so we'll see how this turns out.

Hope he makes a full recovery; part of the reason why you guys haven't heard of him is because he doesn't really do the whole Jets Hype Machine thing. He's definitely the odd one out in that locker room.

Hurts their D even more. A D giving up a lot of rushing yards and big plays. I expect the running game to have another great day setting up PA which will destroy the jets

I could see BJGE an Ridley combining for 150 on the ground pretty easily this weekend. Yesterday's game is very close to confirming what I've thought/hoped since the preseason: Ridley's the RB that we've been looking for for a long time. I like BJGE and Woodhead, but he's a whole different caliber of athlete, and someone who can seriously punish you if you sell out against the pass.

BT is a big loss for the Jets D.....Westerman isn't the player alot of Jet fans thought he'd be.....

Hate to see decent players like BT go down......take out a loudmouth like Bart Scott and I could care less.....

That being said....I hope the Pats Offense puts up 40+ on the Jets....a balanced attack ala Raiders game is what is needed......Jets have no pass rush unless they sell out so Brady should have time to pick them apart....Hope Hernandez is back healthy...it will make the offense even more unpredictable.....Gives the Jet D one more ?????...... to spend practice time for or not.....

Really? Dude's been in the league for a decade! He was a 1st round pick!

Under-rated tackler, solid player. Longtime target on JI because he never turned into a star pass rusher. Eh, he probably would have gotten dumped on here too.

But a big loss. Not Mayo big, but the Jets have no depth so bigger than it should be.

Sorry to learn of this injury. He's a solid defender. These injuries are piling up so fast - one has to wonder about the preparedness of players without the OTAs due to the lockout. Several people predicted injuries would be way up.

Thomas' backup is Jamaal Westerman, little used 3rd year LB from Rutgers. If he has any legal issues, this is the week to get some playing time. Jamaal will have his chances to get some advice as the Law Firm motors past!

i can't believe people on this forum actually voted to "like" this news.

there is nothing good about injuries on opposing teams.

The ironic thing is it is Westerman who is vastly overrated. The Rex Ryan Hype Machine worked in high gear on this guy in the preseason calling him the best pass rusher on the team (granted the Jets have not rushed the passer very well so it really isn't a compliment) and a star on the rise. He has responded slightly better than Vernon Gholston to the hype.
