Not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but I just realized that the Patriots don't play a 1pm Sunday game again until Week 14. This seems unbelievable. Could this type of schedule put us at any long term disadvantage? Thoughts?

Re: Schedule

I don't understand, how and/ or why would it be a disadvantage to the Patriots?

Re: Schedule

It's been mentioned a hundred times, but your not the only one who is fascinated by it, since it's been posted many times already.

Re: Schedule

In terms of preparation, getting into a familiar routine, amount of time to prepare, amount of time to recover, etc., I would guess that most coaches would prefer that their team played at the same exact time each and every week.

But since most games are late, then couldn't you just as easily say that the early games are more difficult since they are not at the 'normal' time?

In my opinion you might be able to make a case that a lot of Sunday and Monday night football games creates a hardship, but I can't see how a 4:00 ET game as opposed to a 1:00 ET game makes for a difficult schedule.

The only hardship is on the fans who can't adjust their Sunday drinking habits to a late kickoff.

Out here on the west coast, I thank my lucky stars that the schedule is the way that it is. Starting off your Sunday with a shower beer just isn't healthy.

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has been known to pound a few beers in the shower to start off my day :rocker:

Re: Schedule

4:00 games are considered PRIME TIME.

It puts my liver at a disadvantage

Re: Schedule

Meh....... I can always spend the time watching one or more of the early games to see how things are shaking out with the other teams.

I DO, however, limit the drinking earlier so as to be able to actually watch and comprehend the Patriots game. :D

Plus, I can work off any anticipation energy by doing some household chores, etc. Being a single parent means you don't have spousal help to get things done. The kid helps, but some things are best done by yourself.

Warm beer and cold pizza: Breakfast of Champions.

That's the Brady rule allowing them to be lubed up.

Re: Schedule

I'm loving the schedule. Now I can get 3 more hours of yard work done before the game starts.

Yup, what he said.....

It is just not right to start drinking @ 10am.. I like the later games for these reasons.

I thoroughly disagree. Drink up!

Re: Schedule

Goodell won't be satisfied until all games are played in prime time every night of the week ... in domed stadiums, on artificial turf, with scores of 45-42, 800 yards passing and the quarterback never getting tackled.
