Fitzpatrick edges Brady for AFC Player Of The Month Honors

Re: Fitzgerald edges Brady for AFC Player Of The Month Honors

First off, the title is wrong.

second, this is another example of people having short term memories. Brady has been playing better than any qb in the nfl hands down, no doubt about it. Early MVP front runner by a mile. Fitz is ok, but its player of the month, not player of last week.

like my boy skip said "The bills are just a cute story at the begining f the season, nothing more"

I'm a homer, but I can't argue with the decision. Brady and Fitzgerald went head to head during a month in which they both played very well and one came away with a W and the other with an L. End of story.

As Pats fans, we can't have it both ways when it comes to TB. We can't argue that he's superior to Manning and Marino because he puts up tough W's when he has to (which is what I argue) and then say he's more deserving of this award for this particular month because he put up better numbers all month, even though he put up an L head to head.

Brady was 13 yards away from breaking the 3 400 yard games in a row. Basically if he completes one more pass and has one less interception we win the game and Brady breaks the record. It's amazing what one play can mean to the entire week.

Its not TEAM of the month, its PLAYER of the month, and Brady has played better.

How do you figure "better"? Yards can be pretty gaudy stats, and he did throw 4 picks in a loss. Fitz has had some picks, but nothing game-changing.

.... It's amazing what one play can mean to the entire week.

Or to an entire season or even to a legacy, as the Pats recall from the "velcro helmet" or as the Titans and Kevin Dyson recall from "the tackle" or as the Cowboys recall from "the catch"...or, well you get the idea.

That's why we love this game, isn't it? We can go from the ecstasy of the Tuck and Adam's kicks to the agony of the velcro helmet.

Because I have eyes, and a brain.

Re: Fitzgerald edges Brady for AFC Player Of The Month Honors

Who cares? I just want "MY TEAM" to play better. I'm a Patriots fan, not a Bills fan. I don't care what they do. I want to see better execution from my team on DEFENSE, OFFENSE and SPECIAL TEAMS. That's all. What good are all these statistical awards anyway if Brady and the team can't win a damn playoff game? I care about the big picture not all these individual stats and awards.

Let Fitzgerald have his moment. Good for him.

Re: Fitzgerald edges Brady for AFC Player Of The Month Honors

Just another example of anti-Patriots bias. Who doesn't think Goodell had something to do with this?

Re: Fitzgerald edges Brady for AFC Player Of The Month Honors

Its not TEAM of the month, its PLAYER of the month, and Brady has played better.

That assumes that stats are the only measure of the best "PLAYER" (no need to SHOUT, this is a civil conversation).

Most of us Brady-backers have long argued that W's and team success are the right measure of superiority vs. the Payme/Marino apologists who look to stats. So, which is it? We can't have it both ways.

Brady and Fitz both put up great numbers for a month, but then went head to head and one won and the other lost. To me, that's open and shut.

Yo. Answer the point with facts and not sarcasm or SHOUTING. When you do the latter, we assume you have nothing to say.

Absolutely. I understand that the Ratgenius had a hand in the vote! ;)

Well said, as usual, and "Liked." The rest is all bull****, which we Brady-backers have said for years. We can't change our tune because we don't like the way one month's award, which will be forgotten in a day, turned out.

Re: Fitzgerald edges Brady for AFC Player Of The Month Honors

Fitzpatrick beats out Brady for AFC offensive player of the month

A well deserved honor for Fitzy

Brady was probably near a lock for the award but sunday changed that.

Although I could think of better awards like SB MVP :)

Agreed on all fronts. We can't have it both ways. We can't say, as I do, that Brady is superior to Peyton and Marino because the latter put up great individual numbers but Tommy delivers the goods when it counts.

For this month at least, TB put up the stats but, when they went head to head, Fitz brought home the bacon when it counted and Tommy coughed up four picks.

I still have the Pats playing deep in January and the Bills sitting on the sidelines, but this round goes to Fitzgerald and the Bills.

I don't drink Kool-Aid and I'm far from a homer but Brady set records this month. He has a 70% completion, 11 TD's, 1327 yards (most of any QB in a 3 game span). Sorry but Ryan is even ranked below Rivers, Roethlis, and even the Sanchez...and thats only the AFC QB's. He is ranked #14 overall. His numbers are nothing special at ALL! So he wins one more game and thats the determining factor????

First, I wasnt shouting, I was just putting emphasis on words because this is the internet and not a face to face convo and you cant tell what words I want to really bring a cross..second of all, I cant take this conversation seriously until someone realizes that Fitgerald is a wr and therefor, can not playing qb better than brady at this current time.

again, I wasnt shouting..THIS! would be shouting THIS is just an emphasis on a word.

second, I wasnt being sarcastic, I watched all the bills and all the pats games and with my own eyes and my own brain, IMO Brady is playing better.
