Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

Apperently the Pats have a certain formation that the Bills read and reacted accordingly, helping them score nearly at will at the very end of the game to win it.

We need someone on the coaching staff to come up with more creativity, this defense may be easy to read at times if Jackson is telling the truth.

Fred Jackson, Bills Exploit Hole in Patriots' Defense During Game-Deciding Play - New England Patriots - NESN.com

Every defense has tendencies that can be exploited by an offense. But the defense can use that to their advantage too, by reversing the tendency at a later, critical time in the season. Even though Jackson properly read the tendency in this case, I'm pretty sure BB didn't draw up Josh Barrett playing halfway down route 1 and not filling the vacated zone.

McCourty and Barrett actually were confused right before the snap. Barrett had to switch up with McCourty going inside to outside. Barrett wasn't even set when the ball was snapped, and from then he was trailing Jackson as he almost got picked by McCourty's guy.

More evidence that this inexperienced group needs more time to jell in this shortened pre-season season. As a Pats homo, I hope they have the requisite football smarts and physical talent to continue to develop.

In other words, give an offense enough drives and eventually they figure something out.

Duh

Hey, isn't that cheating?

I'm glad that two seconds of self-adulation outweighs revealing valuable secrets for the next meeting.

The question is, should the Pats let the Bills beat them to keep the Jets out of the playoffs, or should they throttle the Bills 54-6?

Are the bills* cheaters? Spygate 2

If you look how Belichick calls defenses over the years. He often dials back the playbook early in the season only to open it up as the year goes on. I think 2005 is the extreme example where they totally opened the playbook in the second half vs. KC that year.

Especially with three starters/significant players out, they needed to dial it back. I don't even know if they blitzed once that game.

There's really not much of a secret to beating a matador defense. ;)

It would actually be Spygate 3 after Josh mcDaniels tried second

The Bills offense knew Brady was going to throw that pick-6 and Mccoutry was going to tackle Jackson at the 1 yard line? They are scary good :D

Re: Fred Jackson says the Bills knew what defense the Pats were using late in the gam

what Fred Jackson was trying to say is we knew the pats defense is not good if we can stop brady we can win

Bill Parcels admitted he did it back in the day... we forgot to mention the prequel to Spygate and
of course the Many Other Spygates that go uncaught and unnoticed

It's the NFL. It happens all the time. It's coaches and or players watching a lot of film. The only reason that we lost is that Brady threw 4 picks.

On that specific play the Bills knew the Patriots tendencies and took advantage of the Patriots JAG safeties. On other plays they knew the Patriots would rush four and not get any real pressure allowing FitzPatrick time to pick apart the poorly defended 1:1 battles.

Keep living the fantasy.

Wow. You're taking that loss a lot harder than normal because you are obviously still in the denial stage. If you seriously can't see that there was a lot more to this loss than the 4 INTs then you need a tutorial.
