Maybe I'm overreacting, but is it time to pull the plug on Edelman?

There were definitely some bigger goats in today's game than Edelman, but I guess my anger level is high right now, so I am attempting to be both rational and vengeful from this loss. Don't get me wrong, Ochocinco was pitifully bad today, but Edelman has now had enough time to make an impact.

So, this is not really an issue that was just today, but something I have wondered over the past two years. Should Edelman (or Ay-delman) really have been a lock to make the roster?

I think it's clear that Edelman will never be anything close to Welker, except in his physical resemblance. I don't even think he should be on the field on offense; it seems that every time a ball in thrown to him, you can always expect something bad to happen, or at best, an incompletion. While Edelman is pretty good at punt returns/kickoffs, he certainly is nothing special there either; he's quick, but how many guys around the NFL could easily exceed his current production there? As a special teams returner specialist, I don't think he justifies a roster spot, considering his offensive output is never going to be anything notable.

I was actually thinking we should cut Ocho and move Edelman to the #3 receiver spot.

You are 100% correct. You're overreacting.

Edelman ain't the problem...

Not sure if there's anything Edelman could have done better. If you think he should be Wes Welker, you're delusional, but for the position he was played in, he didn't do anything disastrous.

That Jarius Byrd bat down wasn't his fault.

Time to move on from Ocho. Either replace him with Moss or put Price in that spot when he's healthy.

With the Patriots, every success is an orphan, and every failure has a thousand fathers.

Edelman isn't a problem....he just seems to be like a non-factor.

lol, what?

Today we played terrible as a TEAM. That means everybody included.

The only person that really stood out today was Wes Welker. Anybody still wanna trade him?

I love Ocho but I think its time to part ways. I would even go on to say Slater would have made that TD catch.

It doesn't matter who else we bring in. Tom will almost always throw to Wes and the TEs. No one is saying anything about Deion. Should we cut him also?

EDELMAN?! EDELMAN?! He had NOTHING to do with losing this game. He is clearly a very good punt returner and should on the team for that reason alone. It's not Edelman's fault Brady shat the bed.

I'd rather see Price out there than ocho or edelman at this point. Ridley also needs to touch the ball more. But we'll see. Changes will happen. Correction, changes MUST happen for this team to succeed.

more running plays for Edelman!! - that's the ticket...

you're over-reacting.

I agree with the op. Why is edelman guaranteed a roster spot? He's not a good receiver. We have 2 special team players taking roster spots as receivers (including slater). No need for that

He is completely useless in the spread offense. Not sure why we wouldn't just put two running backs on the field with three WRs, rather than putting four WRs with Edelman. His first game he had over 100 yards receiving, and that was back in 2009. Since then, he's done nothing.

As bad as Ochocinco played, at least he has the talent to make defenses note that he is on the field and needs to be covered.

Remember when people wanted to trade Welker because Edelman was a carbon copy?

15 catches 200 yds? OK BUDDY!

Edelman can return punts and kickoffs
Sucks as a reciever
But his sucktitude is not isolated

Barrett - Beyond Suck
Ocho - So bad he should be made to walk home from Buffalo
Billy O'Brien - Sucks - Sucked - will continue to Suck
Defensive Scheme - Pressure D with no pressure - 1 on 1 coverage with no chucks at the line of scrimmage or when they do they get bogus penalties

SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
