What does Riddley have to do, to get some run. At one point will the coaches (Bill Obrien) on this team understand, that they can't just go empty backfield on every freaking play.

BOB doesn't know how to call good run plays. How many times did he run BJGE on the draw? How many times did he run Woodhead right up the gut? Why was Edelman in the backfield at all??? Quit trying to fit square pegs in round holes. Run Woodhead on the outside, BJGE on the inside, and Riddley all over the place.

We need to run it more period. How many times does our offense have to fail in the playoffs for us to realize that you can't rely solely on Brady's arm to go all the way. It may look fantastic at times and unstoppable but in January it will be slowed down at some point. You have to RUN and rely on your defense by not putting them in tough situations.

Yes, the defense as it currently stands will not win us games but we saw marked improvement last year as the season went on, I expect the same this year. But you can't rely on them if the other team is starting in our territory 4-5 times a game like the Jets in the divisionals last year.

Been saying it for a while now. As great as 2007 was and weeks 1-2 this year, I would love to see more ball control out of this team, less of this spread formation stuff.

I actually don't mind this loss because it highlights one of the huge problems with this team. They put too much pressure on just Brady. Every now and then you have lean on your running game with an athletic RB like Ridley. You might not score as many TDs and have to settle for FGs but you're a lot less likely to give up big turnovers and you'll have better ball control.

The biggest issue is they don't even want to run it, when it's successful, or even when the other team is conceding the running game. This has been going on for 4 years at least.

Green Ellis is worse than maroney right now. They should of drafted fricken ingram.

Ridley should freaking start.

I like the stable of RB's the Pats have...it's how that dummy of an OC uses them ( or doesn't) that puzzles alot of us.....

Stevan looks like with some reps he will be a very good RB....BJGE is a one trick pony...decent but not flashy.....Need to mix it up and use Ridley more...

I don't care who is running it, they need to run it more to keep the heat off Brady and open up the middle of the field.

Agreed. He looked good, outside of the slip. I understand it's a new turf and slick.

I agree, Brady is a master at the play action pass. Doesn't really work when BJGE is your guy in the backfield.

I like this kid Ridley. He looks like a great combo of speed and quickness. I dont understand why he didnt get more touches towards the end of the game. I am guessing its becuase he is a rookie and they wanted RB's with some experince with the ball.

I see it as:

Woodhead looked slow today and he needs to get the ball in space.

BGE: He did not run well between the tackles today.

Ridley: He looked good. He looks quick and could hit the hole. I dont know if was a fumbler in college or not. The only thing that I could think of as to why he didnt have the ball in the 4th quarter.

Ridley is straight up a better runner than BJGE. If the Pats continue to ignore this, I don't even know what to say.

And BOB is a moron. Brady needs to start using even more audible to get out of his idiotic calls.

I said it before...and I'll say it again

Steve Ridley is Ricky Waters reincarnated....he runs exactly the same way

Actually it doesn't really work when there is no one else in the back field.

What?

All I'm saying is I think the offense needs to run more and pass less. Don't really know what you're getting at here.

I quoted the wrong person, I was responding to the guy that said they need to run play action.

Ridley will become a great asset down the stretch. There was an off tackle play that the Pats ran w/ BJGE where he stopped, tried to cut inside and just sat down on the LOS because he doesn't have enough speed to make it around the corner. Made me realize that he probably won't hold his starting job for very much longer. It's his job to lose, mostly because he doesn't fumble, but I see him and Ridley switching spots on the depth chart around mid-season.

Everyone thought we had an every down back in BJGE and we drafted a short yardage runner in Ridley. I think it's the other way around.

Ingram? Really? Are you serious? You realize that Ingram has only put up 40, 51, and 38 yards in 3 games with the Saints right? His 43 yards per game would hardly help us. and considering how our run game is an afterthought so far he'd probably have LESS than 43 yards per game with the Pats.

Ridley should freaking start.

This I can agree on. Ridley should get more touches. Make him a bigger part of the gameplan. BOB's gameplan and playcalling were suspect against the bills.

I agree on Ridley, he should get more touches but woodhead was used incorrectly. He shouldn't be used on runs right up th gut, that's ridiculous. Put Woody in space or on the edge where he can make defenders miss and he's deadly. Give Ridley the tough carries up the middle. BJGE looks just too slow to be a starter for us. Call me crazy but give the rookie a shot to compete for the starting job. See if Ridley can make things happen in the run game.

The pats need a CLOCK KILLER badly , i don't give a damn if it's this riddley guy or dan conelly. We need some one run good and take time off the clock so our defense rarely sees the field.

agree with the posters who think ridley deserves more carries.

watching the game, it was obvious that he has a burst through the hole that law firm lacks.

woody up the middle is not going to cut it, and i feel it is time to make the running game more of a focal point for the offense now, to get it fine-tuned for when we need it down the stretch and in the playoffs.

if a changing of the guard from law firm to ridley is the catalyst for this, so be it says i.
