Am I the only one who thinks the Suck for Luck fad is sad?

Seriously what fan wants their team to tank a whole season so they can get a high draft pick? It's not madden where your players health don't matter, they should be playing 100% all year when there are people spending money to watch them. I'm ashamed of anybody who thinks this (Dolphins, Chiefs, Colts fans)

No you are not the only one!!! The last time I remember this kind of a campaign, if was for Reggie Bush! Who wasn't even the first pick, and while being heralded as a can't miss prospect, he has done very little at the pro level.

Moral of the story, you never know who's gonna make it in the pro. And hoping your team throws away a year just to draft someone is PATHETIC!!!

Is he really that good anyways? People are all ready to get him a bust in canton. Some guys on here want the pats to trade both their 1st and some seconds to get him when they already have mallet and the dude wouldn't play anyways for years.

I only dislike the "Suck for Luck" campaign if it is going on already. Its too early to sort out the middle of the pack teams.

But say its December and your squad is 5-9 or 4-10? I would absolutely support tanking. Even with a stable QB situation think of the king's ransom that pick will command.

I can justify this by saying what if he is the next Manning? In 1998, what would Peyton Manning have been worth? You can hardly put a price on an asset that valuable.

Now, if this kid isn't as good as they say the decision will obviously be justifiably ridiculed but he's supposed to be the best prospect to come out in quite a few years, even better than Bradford.

To me, losing a few games would be hard to argue against.

I'm not looking forward to you posting when Brady retires...

I find it hilarious.

But to answer the question, I think after 2 games it's definitely sad. Way too early to throw it in regardless of how you look. We ourselves have had 2 teams go to the SB after 0-2

Colts fans don't have a choice...their team will be in the running for Luck whether they want them to or not.

Keep in mind this isn't an incompetent franchise.

If Mallett isn't the successor then we will already have one groomed by the time Brady is gone.

IMO it is highly unlikely that a team as well run as this one will ever sniff much less than 8-8.

I doubt mallett will be here by the time Brady is gone

Miami and KC are the Front Runners imo Indy placing last I just don't see it. I hope I do not see Indy have 1st overall pick this coming Draft.

The Pressure thats going to be on this kid is ridiculous. I Hope he fails and all these teams tanking it get bit in the ass.

If Miami gets a DOMINANT QB watch the Phuck out. That is all that they are missing. KC plz finish last:)

Would kc even take him? I know cassel is off to rough start but he had a great year last season.

ABSOLUTELY Keep Cassel for 2 years once you draft Luck then trade Cassel for a nice DP package once Luck is ready. He has a long contract right?

Just an FYI, Miami is missing a good offensive line, they don't have a threat at TE, they don't have a legit outside WR oppisite BMARSH. Oh ya, and if you've seen there first 2 games, looks like they could use a lot of help on defense. Also, they could use a real HC. Other then that, they are killer.

Henne has actually played a lot better this year so far for what it's worth. I'd still take Luck if I was them and trade Henne for something, but I think Miami won't be quite that bad to be in the running.

He's a smart kid, never been in trouble, and a guy who decided to stay in school for his senior season at Stanford University.

Yeah, I sure hope the ******* fails!

The NFL draft is much more of a crapshoot than NBA. Top picks - even #1's overall - are no guarantee to pan out in the NFL like in the NBA. So while some teams may deliberately play poorly (or, I should say, coach poorly and strategize in such a way as to not emphasize winning :D) I don't see the league doing anything about it since I don't really see it as being a problem.

If they do draft Luck, they'd have to cut Manning. How else could they afford to have that much money tied up in the QB position and on one guy who'd be on the bench....?

Unless Manning's injury is way more serious than any of us know, they would never draft Luck. Chances are they would trade the pick away and gain a king's ransom.
