Ross Ventrone - DB - Patriots

Patriots promoted S Ross Ventrone from the practice squad.
A pretty good indication that SS Pat Chung (thumb surgery) will be out against the Bills despite his surprising return to practice Friday. An undrafted free agent out of Villanova last year, Ventrone will be making his NFL debut if he's active on Sunday.

Anyone getting a touch edgy about the backfield ? I don't think the Bills are the 99 Rams, but they have a few weapons that could get annoying for NE on Sunday.

The depth at safety is concerning..

In regards to Rudy Remember he got 1 sack on 1 play!!!

Ventrone could Get 1 pick on his 1st play ever!!! Ross will play more plays than Rudy Did. (more than 1 I mean)

maybe James Ihedigbo is gone... It could happen and Chung plays. Reports seem good w/ chung

but I still suspect Chung is out

w/ that open roster spot who knows what is going on???

is Zoltan in the clear? b/c if not James Ihedigbo is on his way out. All these double moves (if it happens) they occur quickly

No, I think Chung will be still be in there. Ross is just going to be DB depth against a spread offense that Buffalo will deploy.

He'll be released on Tuesday and Gronk 2.0 will probably be picked back up (if he's healthy). It's all situational football with this club. We needed a DB this week against a spread offense more then we needed a gimpy 2nd TE.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Aren't they down 2 WRs themselves? Not that it isn't still a concern.

Ross Ventrone is better than both James Sanders and Brandon Meriweather ?

In what universe ?

Meriweather borderline cancer

Sanders I was never a fan of.

Don't knock Ventrone until the dude is given a fair shot.

Is Mills playing TE??? my guess is no now right? or do we still have 1 spot open?

What in the world would activating a scrub have to do with whether Chung plays or not?

It would mean a lot if there was just 1 spot open

It would mean nothing if there were 2

how many spots open were there?

D Gronk cut Pryor IR

that is 2 right?

Mesko's status is still up in the air. with all things considered will Mills get a shot this Sunday or another T?

Pryor went on IR way before D.Gronk was cut, at the same time as Koppen went on IR. Koppen and Pryor were replaced with Cohen (DT) and Adams (CB). The roster is at 53 right now.

So now we're bringing in members from metal bands? :rocker:

Ventrone is in primarily for ST. I would be surprised to see him at safety at all. He is not an NFL caliber player.

thnx dude I am not very good at keeping up w/ the 53 and whom takes over for whom. I figured no moves were made w/ injury 1 (i could not think of 1) so I did math of the recent IR and cuts. Apparently the PATS filled ttheir voids ASAP and I missed the news.
