He did have a false start. I wondered about the signing. I wish we'd kept Yeatman on the 53. We could promote Mills, but he doesn't offer a lot from a blocking stand point.

I think Dan Gronkowski had 2 false starts last week.

And, Im almost positive BB pulled him out after the 2nd one. I recall thinking thats not the way to earn a spot on this team.

My guess is Garrett Mills gets promoted from the practice roster to fill D. Gronk's spot, is active on game day, and plays. With Hernandez likely out, the Pats knew they needed a 'move' tight end. And with D. Gronk and his hammy, the Pats probably waited until they were satisfied Mills knew the playbook and game plan. Mills must have shown enough today that he was ready. A healthy, prepared Mills >> nicked up D. Gronk. It really is that simple. If D. Gronk were healthy, this probably wouldn't have happened.

Not sure how I feel about this...How does Rob feel now? I know they're adults and understand this is a business, but I'm sure he's still bummed out. He must of been psyched about playing on the same team as his bro and to have him taken away so soon it kind of feels like a tease. But as someone else pointed out, a teams needs can change week to week in the NFL especially when you suffer so Many injuries. Idk I'm a little bummed out lol let's see what happens I guess

Not sure how I feel about this...How does Rob feel now? I know they're adults and understand this is a business, but I'm sure he's still bummed out. He must of been psyched about playing on the same team as his bro and to have him taken away so soon it kind of feels like a tease. Isn't Garrett Mills a small receiving TE like Hernandez? He can't block, and with Vollmer out, Solder will be playing full time at RT in the game. The next signing should be a big/blocking TE, the pats seem to do 2 TE set running plays alot.

Also, like others said, 1 TE active on gameday...?

I wasn't a fan of the signing. Not only is he a marginal player, but there's the whole dynamic of having his brother on the team. I wonder how Rob is taking it, especially as he'll be playing before family and friends this weekend. The whole TE situation has been very curious this year.

Yeah, it's a shame. Would've been great for the Gronkowski family.

I hope so.....and that's exactly what he'd say, but he is only human I'm sure he's a little disappointed big brother wasn't able to hang. Too bad it happened right before this game too. I'm sure everything works out fine though, just some surprising moves is all.

I"m pretty sure DGronk lost us more yards than he gained for us. The only time I remember hearing his name was after a penalty.

Gronk got a shot here, and that's that. If you can't rely on him to be on the field without committing penalties, then that pretty much decides it. I have to think that either Crumpler or Mills will be on the roster within the next day or two. We can't really be going into Buffalo with 1 TE, can we?

Sorry, but I am ECSTATIC.

It's a dream come TRUE.

I have nothing against the guy, personally, but his continued presence on our roster would've always reminded me of the GALACTIC stupidity of cutting Will Yeatman ~ who Coach Bill The Mad clearly hoped to reclaim after trading Darius Butler ~ and then settling for...THIS guy.

Coach Bill The Mad is without PEER...But sometimes he DOES do UNFATHOMABLY stupid things.

Frankly, I think he over-thinks things, sometimes: Tries to outsmart the entire world, as Brother Mayo put it.

Mills makes sense as the temporary replacement for Aaron the Navigator. Gronk II was more of a classic blocking Tight End, not even a Flex End like Gronk I, whereas Mills is clearly a Wing Back, like Aaron the Navigator, and makes a much better compliment to Rob Gronkowski.

After Yeatman was cut and D.Gronk was on the roster: "Yeatman's not that good anyway."

After D.Gronk was cut: "BB is an idiot for cutting Yeatman."

What I find puzzling is that this leaves us, for the Bills game, only ONE tight end.

Unless we plan to use Solder a lot more at TE.

I hope that this is not a sign that we will sacrifice in the run game to add another DB to counter the Bills spread offense.
