Hernandez is gone so in essence we lost a BIG WR in a TE body.

Our only current deep threat is Slater. I would really like to see Price active for this game. We lost an explosive eligible receiver and we need to replace it w/ a comparable talent in the sense of route running and YAC yardage. Price can do this and I believe he is our man to do so.

what do you think will transpire on this issue?

I want to see the BEAST play:)

I'd like to see him out there too. It likely depends on how well he practised during the week as to whether or not we see him Sunday.

I'd love to see him out there but it will be tough to make room for him unless he covers something on ST as well.

That's an interesting thought and question. However the way I see it the Pats still have plenty of weapons against the Buffalo defense; enough that creating additional offense in place of Hernandez is not an issue - at least not as big of an issue as there is on defense.

I think Hernandez' roster spot should be taken up instead with another player on defense, regardless of whether it be a defensive lineman, defensive back, or linebacker.

NEVER FEAR, whenever there's any loss in the receiving corps, WES THE GREAT makes up for the difference. What a diamond in the rough he is, and has always been.

This looks like a job for…

EDELBINKY!!!

When Price has been on the field, have you noticed him running a significant number of deep routes?

Given that Price has seldom even been on the same gametime field as Tom Brady I don't think there's a meaningful answer to that question. (He did run quite a few in camp.)

But in theory, a 6'+ long-armed receiver who runs a 4.34 does seem like a good candidate to be a deep threat, don't you think?

Price better to do something soon, only thing he's shown thus far is he can ride the bench like a champ.

INB4 Excuses:

He went to a school with a messed up offensive playbook.

He missed part of his first training camp.

He tore up the Jag's JAGs for 100 yards.

You seem to have missed the key "excuse" that he hasn't been playing because he's injured, not because he was benched.

Similarly, in the Cunningham etc. thread a number of posters complained that they haven't been impressed with Cunningham in the first two games; he obviously isn't earning playing time; etc., apparently unaware that he's been injured and not practicing.

My question was an honest one, because I don't know the answer. I didn't take the time to analyze Price's route tree when he was out there during the preseason. He didn't seem to be running the Tate routes as much as the Branch routes, but that was just an impression I got, and I don't know that for sure. If he's running the Branch routes, all the speed in the world isn't going to transform him into a deep receiver.

What makes you think he'd be playing even if he wasn't injured? He has little to no special teams value.

That is the rub with him. Clearly ST play and health would get him on the field, but without ST, it is hard to justify activating him.

...and without health, it's hard to know whether the team thinks he's worth activating! Yeah, he's pretty much the 100% mystery man at this point. Yet on the rare occasions when we've actually had the chance to see him play football, the potential has been tantalizing.

But how soon until BB runs out of patience with his health issues?

Ask Shawn Crable.

Do offensive players get as much time allotted as defensive players before BB reaches for the button to the trap door in his office?

Pats lose a WR or Ocho doesn't come around and Price will get his shot......

Pats WR corps is kinda deep.....ya think?
