No dropped passes so far this year

I just read that the Pats are one of three teams that have no dropped passes this year. I know it is only two games, but this is big because guys like Welker and Hernandez were near the top of the league in dropped passes last year (Brandon Tate was up there too, but it is irrelevant now that he is gone). Hopefully this trend will continue throughout the year.

I don't know if that was a credited dropped pass though. According to Mike Sando of ESPN, the Pats have not been credited with a dropped pass.

Mike Sando could be wrong. Or Stats Inc could be. I can't remember the play exactly, but I do remember that Slater should have/could have caught the ball.

The play in question, while completely Slater's fault, would have been an outstanding catch if he made it because of his body positioning. He got completely twisted around on that play. Again, it was completely his own fault, but I'm pretty sure you can't really count that as a drop because of how hard it would have been to actually catch it.

Not familiar with their method on this, but could that be referring to targets vs. catches? In that case it's possible not to catch every ball you're targeted with, but still not have any drops.

I am not worried. I am sure that Bill O'Brien or Chad Ochocinco will be blamed for every dropped pass on the game day thread on Sunday. Ochocinco will probably be blamed even if he isn't on the field.

That went down as a defensed pass (defender tipped it) and not a dropped pass. It would have a been a very tough catch.
