That positive Hernandez report made me smile at my computer screen :)

We really need this guy,he is so 'money' when we need a catch to move the chains,he just knows how to get open almost 90% of the time.

If he is back next week that would be great.

Oh no, not a "trap game"!!:scared::scared:

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

Cedric Benson got hit a 3 game suspension today for his conduct during the lockout, any chance Haynesworth has been hit with something similar?

Can a division game ever really be a trap game? Yes, the Pats haven't lost to the Bills since 2003, but there have been a lot of close calls especially in recent years. I expect the Pats to be firing on all cylanders on Sunday.

yep i agree it's on the road vs a 2-0 team and Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown just as many TD's as Brady, the pats will have there hands full for 4QT's

Relax. While this game will be a tad different than the SD game, I still feel confident the teams gets a Win. SD was clearly a superior team and we got thru it ok. Buffalo has greatly improved we can all agree, .....BUT, they still need to put up alot of numbers. Even with thier good pass rush, they can't hold our OFL all day.

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

Brian Billick is a moron. He was just on WEEI this morning with Mutt and Jeff (or whatever their names are) and he basically said that Buffalo just could not hand with the Patriots. He said Buffalo's improved, but won't come close to winning.

Come On, Bri........ pick a position and stand by it.

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

With Chung out and our secondary banged up, I'm inclined to agree.

Well, maybe not that it is a "trap" game. That is just some stupid, made-up press word.

But it is going to be tough.

The Bills offense is legit. This game should be close.

albert is lazy man he'll be ok,

You can't blame Brian for using the term "trap game." There is a limited set o terms you need to use if you want to remain in the business.

Besides, Buffalo is a kind of sleeper team for all their opponents. I mean like it's very hard for a team to get up for Buffalo the way they do for the Jets, Chargers, or even today's Broncos.

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

Since it's the Bills, are we sure he didn't say "crap game"?

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

WTF Billick? Not so sure I would consider a trap game against a division rival who is also 2-0, playing on their home turf. It's going to be a very tough game for the Patriots. They need the offense of the last two weeks and a better defense then the last two weeks to pull a victory off in buffalo!

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

I'm starting Fitzpatrick on my fantasy team. Dude will throw for 400+ against this 2ndary. That being said, we will still, of course, kick dey azzes. :D

I think realistically he should rest this week AND next week too.

We can deal with BUF and OAK without him, even if we come away 1-1 during that span somehow.

I hope that they play it somewhat conservative and cautious, and that he will miss only 2 games and then be ready for the NYJ on Oct.9th. That's the game where we really need him, especially with their CB's.

Re: Thursday Afternoon Notes - Haynesworth Absent, Billick Calls Sunday a 'Trap Game'

Brian Billick is the master of the obvious. Every road game in which the Pats are favored is a "trap game." But this is not the Ravens or the Steelers we're looking at.

The Bills can definitely win this week if the Patriots defense doesn't step up and hold these guys to 21 points or less. The Bills receiving corps is decimated and if the Pats can keep Fred Jackson from dominating the game, it should be a tough day for the Bills' offense.

But it's hard to imagine the Bills defense slowing down the Patriots on the ground or through the air. The defense is just not that good. Oakland racked up 454 total yards in Buffalo led by the inestimable Jason Campbell at QB. Oakland went 8-12 on 3rd down so Brady should keep the chains moving when needed. And, they gave up lots of big plays on the ground and through the air.

My guess is that it's another track meet that will have the "Defense? What Defense?" thread spewing bile again next week.

"- Patriots promote Tarpinian off of the practice squad –"

Ergo, it is a Tarp game.
