he suffered a High Ankle Sprain and those things are awful to heal.

He is said to be in active for a minimum of 2-3 weeks.

These Sprains generally take 4-8 weeks. It is always on the higher side of healing time.

will he play?

:confused2::confused2::confused2:

I just concentrate on one game at a time, this week its the Jills.

Recovery and rehab depend on severity, there was no ligament damage and Nick wanted to back into the game on Sunday, team held him out as a precaution.

He's already lobbying to play this week, he was off crutches and moving around today doing rehab and working with trainers, he doesn't want to miss this week's game.

Best bet, is he misses this week, and probably returns for next week's game against the Ravens, but pretty sure he'll be ready for the Pats game based on his commentary.

This isn't a skill position player, he's not a RB, WR, DB, or LB, he's an OL, and only needs to move in a small space, quite different for the OL'n.

from personal experience I have had friends out for 8 and 12 weeks... some 6.

My point is if he is brought back too soon he puts his season in jeopardy.

I realize NFL have access to the best kind of healing/treatments It is the WORST type of Ankle sprain and these sprains are awful and it would be foolish to bring him back in 3 weeks. Would the JETS risk their most valuable lineman for extended time for just 1 game? I hope they actually think for once. Shutting him down for 4-5 is the best move

it is a skill position for you guys he is 1 of 2 SOLID players on your line the rest are JAGS (He3 is the BEST man on your line. I'm saying if Mangold rushes back to soon and rehurts it vs PATS say Bye bye to him for 6-8 weeks:eek:

you dont rush this stuff.

him out would certainly even the field a bit w/ all of our injuries

Sure seems you are wishing and trying to will your way he will miss 4+ weeks

He won't

He's the best center in the league, but it doesn't change the fact he is an OL'n and not a skill position player and will not be as affected by the injury as skill position players are.

That kind of injury requires at LEAST 4-5 weeks. Did you play sports?

The report I saw had a MINIMUM of "2-3 " weeks. These injuries more often than not usually take more than the minimum required time for them to heal

You went for hoping he'll be out in 3 weeks to claiming he could be out for as much as 12.

LOL, hoping hard, ain't ya?

I'm pretty sure the team knows his value and will not rush him back

Shutting him down for 4-5 is the best move because you are hoping he is out that long, that doesn't mean he will be.

Browning Nagle

Brady may not play in week 5. Who the hell knows what will happen by then?

Mangold is a very very good player. Any time spent out of the game for the Jets is a big loss in run and pass protection.

OL is not a skill position I know this.... w/ your JAG team replacements Mangold should be a special "skill position player" b/c you lack such depth on the o-line. 2 Solid guys and Vlad Duccasse :D:rofl: :D

JAG team replacements?

Now you're just talking out of your ass. You really don't know anything about the Jets depth.

don't be a pessimist. Always assume things stay Gr8 for TFB and the line and his weapons. We need not have more injuries.

we PAT fans know you have bad depth especially on the O-Line.:)

that is what happens when you spend too much $$$ on your Starters:cool:

it hurts depth quality:)

Has Rex Ryan took a look at his foot ?

Doesn't matter..Pats will win

It's easier to play for guys who aren't running all over the place. If he wants to play by week 5, he should be able to. He should be at less than 100% though.
